This review is about the Beautiful Dream BT804 Rebuildable Silica Tank Atomizer from Stealthvape this was sent to me free of charge as a field test and for review, which will remain my honest opinion.
My opinions are my own and in no way represent this website Planet Of The Vapes.
http://www.stealthvape.co.uk/DREAM-BT804-EXTENDEDI must apologise for Stealing @Stealvapes images .. my camera is in the shop getting sand removed from its body.
Now .. I never made it any secret that the Dream V1 was not my favourite atomiser.
In fact I'd pretty much put it up for sale within 8 hours of getting it. To say I thought it was a piece of crap is an understatement.
As such I think it was quite brave of @stealthvape to send me the Beautiful Dream BT804 V2 for review.
I've heard this called a Kayfun clone ... though I am not going to compare it to the Kayfun because a: I dont have a Kayfun to compare it too .. and b: clone suggests it looks the same .. and it really REALLY doesn't, but maybe its somewhat uglier 3rd cousin?
There are some differences between the v1 and the v2 .. the most obvious being the plastic tank is now black and the atty is now made from stainless steel, mine also came with an extension increasing the amount of juice the Dream can hold. But by far the best improvement to my mind is the fact that the air hole is smaller ... a lot smaller .. almost too small.
This is a relief, on the V1 it was like trying to suck vapour through a babies teething ring, seriously .. it didn't have an air hole .. more of a wind tunnel.
That said I found the draw on the V2 a bit tight .. but the steel is soft enough to open up the air hole easily just by inserting a cork screw into it and giving it a couple of turns ... don't go TOO far though!
Rebuilding the V2 is the same as rebuilding the V1 the coil and wick are held in place with two tiny pins. and set up requires no faffy no res/ res wire joining.
I would suggest when wicking to follow @stealthvapes advice and wrap the wick around the inside top of the base .. and not thread it down into the channels, use enough to almost create a seal. In my experience with this Atty, this helps prevent any dry hits.
So .. do I like it? Strangely yes! I road tested it on 2 recent trips, one to Prague and one to the lake district, and it has been in good constant use during those two weeks. It has its little foibles, occasional dry hits as you get halfway down, and the odd gurgle if you dont turn it upside down to screw the top on after you have refilled - but nothing major.
Flavour and Vapour production are excellent. and wired at 1.3 Ohms on a Mech mod it gives quite a warm vape.
Its quite easy to wick .. though i suspect loosing the tiny pins that hold the coil and wick in place may become an annoying issue. Ease is increasingly becoming a factor with me - I like the spheroid which is incredibly easy to wick and also I'm gaining a liking for evods .. which are great no nonsense clearo's so as things get easier .. I get lazier. I love my Choddy (Norman) though sometimes I find I cant be arsed to wick it when there are easier items around.
So some good plus points - but also some minus's as well : This is NOT the prettiest Atty in the world. In fact its the woman that when you were 21 years old you would go round and see after the pub's for a booty call, but would never introduce to your mates - fantastic in bed .. but not the best looking bird in the world.
Its overly large for the amount of juice it holds, and adding the extension cap moves that overly largeness into pure comedy territory.
If they made this Atty wider (the full 22mm) I feel they could loose a bit of height and increase juice capacity and also I'm guessing increase pressure .. making dry hits even less likely. plus .. would sit nicer on 22ml Mods.
All in all though my opinion of this Atty os very positive don't let my negative comments on its looks dissuade you ... this Atty is a performer .. and easy to set up, and you know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and one mans munter is another mans Sorcha from Willow, this atty is well worth a punt at the money if you are after a good reliable inexpensive re-buildable.
On top of this it Looks from Stealthvapes site that spares are available .. and this is always something to bear in mind.
Now Excuse me .. I can feel some Original Redwood Blend giving me a booty call.... but don't tell the missus.
Pros: Great Vape, easy to set up, spares available
Cons: Not the best looking atty in the world, can get the odd dry hit BUT only if you stick the wick down the channels in my experience, do it the "Kayfun" way and your good to go.
