Roughly how much juice is equivalent to a cigalike cart?

I am trying to work out cost difference if any between premix juice and cigalike carts. I have a friend who is using cigalikes and is happy with them but is interested if there is any cost savings to be had and doesnt want to DIY mix. He pays £3.25 for 3 carts.

Each cart carries about 1ml of juice, if you're lucky.

Now is he getting the Empty Cartridges or is he using Cartomisers (built in atomiser?)

The most cost effective thing is to DIY your own e-liquid.

If he is using cartomisers at £3.25 for 3 that £1.08 per ML hes paying

And that is a lot.

Definitely better off buying bottles of eliquid (the bigger the bottle the cheaper it becomes usually) and filling carts yourself, it will work out much cheaper.

Hes using e-lites I think which are the cartomisers. I had no idea how much juice was in them so couldn't work out the costs. As I am also still using the same type of e-cigs until my kit comes I dont know how long say 3ml of juice will last compared to one of the cartomisers. Is the usage the same or do you use more when you fill your own tanks?

Usage depends on how much you vape, its a very personal number and each person is different. Also, different cartomisers/clearmisers can contribute to the amount of e-liquid being used.

Many of the mass marketed cigalike kits (E-Lites included) will have their own threading connection for their cartomisers, making them incompatible with any other e-cig accessory available on the market.

An upgrade to an ego battery type kit might be a better option, offer you more versatility, and give you the option to try literally hundreds of flavours available :)

Yea I get that but surely that wouldn't change a great deal with different kit (unless you enjoy it more with better kit so smoke more) so I am really interested in like for like use. I think it is clear that there is money to be saved but how much? Would it be fair to day that if you use an Ego battery kit with pre mix that you would save 2/3 or £20 out of £30 as opposed to the cartomisers?

Is there a savings? Most definitely.

You cant really get a like for like comparison because and E-Lites cartomiser is not like a Boge SR or LR cartomiser, they may do the same thing but there are differences.

You have to take into consideration, the capacity difference, the OHM of the coil that heats the liquid, the voltage it is being vaped at.

All these things factor in.

The best peice of advice I can give you, if you are concerned most about saving money, you need to get away from restrictive devices which do not allow you the options that are available to you.

I make E-liquid at the cost of roughly 2-3p per ml. I use a rebuildable tank which costs me about 3p per new wick and coil (if even that high) and a rebuildable dripping atomiser thats about 2p per new wick n wire. Replacing them weekly or bi-weekly, sometimes monthly.

My major costs now consist of 3 things, Nicotine Base Flavour Concentrates and batteries

Last year I spent £16.45 per week on vape gear versus £12 per day on smokes. This year I reckon I will be down to about £5 per week.

Again thanks KulrMeStoopid,

Can you break down your costs for e-liquid at 3p/ml. What kind of bulk do you buy to get that cost and from where? I had kind of worked out I could do it for about 10p/ml but if I can do it for 3p I would be interested to know how

The only thing I buy in Bulk is Nic Base. And even then, I haven't bought in the largest quantities available yet.

I have moved down to a 12mg nic base which drives the cost of the base down even more. And I use cost effective flavour concentrates. To each their own though. My RY4 mix is the cheapest I make by far at (my numbers up there should say 12-13p per mil!!)

Have a look in our Mixology section and Flavour Concentrate reviews for break downs in costs.
