Safe and Decent Ohms for Mech Build

Afternoon all

What ohms would give me a decent vape using a mech with a 25R 18650? More importantly, a safe one?

I'm fine with regulated mods, and the power is adjustable, but being the first Mech build, i want to make sure i get it right first time. Is there a sweet spot perhaps?

1.2ohms for me. [emoji106] Be sure to keep checking the resistance on an ohm meter before using it on the mech (when the coils are installed, after adjusting, after wicking, after juicing, just to make sure they resistance isn't jumping around at all.)

HAve a play here to see what's what. I wouldn't go below 0.25 on a 25R, but 99% of the time in my mech I am using VTC4s and always build to 0.2. The fact of the matter is though you need to know what is safe and then build, build, build until you find what suits you.

What sort of wattage do you normally use?
Work out if that is safe using ohms law and make sure you have a margin of safety.
I assume you have done your homework.

Fully aware of my battery limits etc, i have a range of different builds in all my tanks/rda's, and run at different wattages. Was mainly looking to see what others have?

I've just tried a 0.5ohm 26g dual coil, and seems ok, but the ramp up takes ages

I found the move to Ni80 made a massive difference to ramp up. My X1 has a 0.2 ohm Ni80 flat wire dual coil setup in there at the moment and the ramp up time is negligible. Think that was 6 or 7 wraps but I'm 80 miles from all of my vape gear at the moment so can't be sure.

Thinner wire will ramp up quicker.
I personally build at about 0.8 ohms with .32mm kanthal.
I have only ever used my mechs since my early days on ego clearos.
I am used to it and have no problem getting the vape I want. I sometimes pump the fire button a few times to get it warm before vaping.
I can see how this could be unsatisfactory for some who are used to a regulated device with more flexible options.

more recently i have been aiming for 0.2ohms on my mechs using 24g kanthal
24g 6 wraps 2.5mm comes in around 0.24ohms on my Goblin RTA and i usual shoot for the same on my RDA but using 3mm diameter

I have noted that these guys go for the following on a mech:
Twisted420
22g 8wraps .18 to .20 2.5mm

RubyRoo
24g 6wraps .20 2.5mm

5 wrap parallel duel coil 0.4mm 316ss 3mm diameter 0.2ohm is perfect for me
