Saving 200ml of juice

Hi all, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

While I've been stuck in the UK with family (thanks 'rona) I've been surviving on ordering shortfills + nicotine shots (to make 3mg)- I typically mix my own from one shots or aromas.

I've made two orders from one well known vendor, the first with 400ml of juice + nic and was great. I made a second order for 600ml of juice + nic (same brand), I've had some issues with this one.

The single biggest bottle was 250ml with 200ml of juice, ready for 4x 18mg nic shots to get my 3mg target. I dripped the juice first to make sure I liked it, added the nic shots, shook it for all hell and waited about an hour with more shaking in between. Unfortunately when I filled my tank with the juice it was incredibly harsh on the throat and peppery. To me this seems like a bad batch of nicotine, luckily I haven't added the other 9 nic shots to the rest of the juice.

I've since contacted the vendor encase they've had any other reports of a bad batch, they told me they've never had any issues with their nic, I should use salts instead and there's literally nothing they can do. Not impressed with how they handled it but ok :54:

I've tried the juice with a fresh build (wotofo profile) and it still un-vapable unless I grow to like the sensation of peppery sandpaper on my throat. I've ordered new nic from another supplier, mixed it with another juice and its absolutely fine!

So, the questions following my sob story:

1) Is there anyway to try and 'save' the 200ml of juice? I got some PG/VG with the new nic, but not completely convinced that will save it by itself.

2) Is it worth diluting one of the remaining 9 bottles of 'bad' nic to 3mg and test it by itself, possibly shooting an email to the manufacturer with the batch number if its rough?

3) Is there a safe way of discarding the 9 bottles of 'bad' nic?

Thanks in advanced for any advice, sorry for the ramble.

i would do option 2, but just make a small amount. then get back to the vendor and go through them for bumping you off with bad nic and sending you a cheeky reply.

Hi @vapey mcvapeface and welcome to the planet.

some flavours will need a lot longer than a day or so to steep especially if they are fresh and custards or desserts. fruits are usually vapeable after a day. if it is a strong peppery taste then it does sound like a bad batch of nic.

in 6 years this has only happened once with me and sadly once the nic is added if its kak then the juice is ruined as most times it wont get any better. diluting it may help a little but then also weaken the original flavour and why should you waste more vg/pg just to have to dump that as well.
luckily for me it was 7 or 8 shortfills of dinner lady that got ruined and they replaced it and the nic shots and told me just to dump the rest. they did get back to me once id supplied the nic shot serial number and after they checked they confirmed it was a whole pallet of thousands of bottles that they had to dump.
so dont take no for an answer. get back to whoever you got it from and get them to check their nic shots against the serial number on your bottles you received from them. you could slip in that youve mentioned it on the largest vaping forum in the uk to see if it will change their mind.
if no joy name and shame them. if you are sent a faulty product then its down to them to replace it.

can you check if said supplier is on my trusted list as this would be a strike to maybe remove them if they are not willing to help their customers out POTV Vendors & Recommended E Liquid Suppliers

Thanks for all your replies and suggestions!

I will get onto this and let you know how it goes. From their responses so far I doubt it will get me anywhere, they seem pretty hell bent on blaming everything but the nic.

who is it?

The Vendor is on your recommend suppliers list, although not as a POTV vendor. I don't want to break any rules, is naming the company here ok?

It is a fruity flavour, and seemed pretty good before the nic. I haven't used shortfils in a while - please correct me if im wrong but I didn't think needed steeping after adding nicotine. It's been about 4 days since I originally added the nic and tested it, I just re-tested it and unfortunately its the same.

To be honest I was expecting them to ask for the batch number, test it, and at best give me a discount or send me out replacement nic. While getting the 200ml + 13 Nic shots compensated would be the best outcome, I'm just happy at the moment that I didn't bin the rest of the juice. Perhaps I'm being too chill over approx. 30 quid of goods.

i think i can guess who it is as the size is a clue.
if it was a fresh batch just mixed and then sent out it may need a steep but not for too long as its a fruit flavour.

I've had nic shots like this before from Lubrisolve .... I dumped the whole lot, there was no saving it.

I don't think was mixed in house, but could be wrong, the 200ml in question was "Yellow Fiva E-Liquids 200ml Shortfill ", the rest of the juice is 100ml bottles from various brands. I had tested it before the nic and it was fine.

Ahh i'm sorry, I think il end up dumping the now tainted juice and the 9 other nic shots if vaping101 doesn't do something helpful after I test the nic separately.

I’d be back on their case until they send you out a replacement. Politely of course... but £30 is a lot of money to some folk.

my guess was wrong :)
not heard of that juice and only had 1 order from 101. must admit i buy all my nic by the box from darkstar as most come with 100vg while i prefer to use 70vg shots.
hope they relent but as they are not vendors on here all we can do is hope.
