I've been working on a juice line for the last few months with the aim to sell them. I make them at home but I have a rig that I've built which means I can create the liquid in a clean room using sterilised equipment and pharmaceutical ingredients. I've also tried use (as close to) diacetyl and acetoin free concentrates so create them. So far, no adverse effects from selling to friends and family and using myself for months.

I've done a lot of investigation and I'm struggling to find definitive answers about Europes new regulations, what's going to be imposed, when and what vendors now have to do.

I was wondering if anyone can help me out because I don't want to invest in loads of bottles then I'm told I can't sell it.

I'm after a couple of bits of information really:

1. Would it be worth starting to sell them now ?

2. What are the current regulations I would have to adhere to in order to sell them ?

Sounds like DIY selling? I'm pretty sure that's a big no no on the forum.

Your set up sounds like the average DIY liquid persons, in fact I probably have more kit (from beakers/magnetic stirrers/etc) the corner of my spare room looks like a laboratory lol. I don't think the equipment is the issue here.

Might be better to use a suitable premises and not your room, set up a company, etc.

As far as legislation goes I believe there's a limit on selling over X ml & with the nicotine content but I can't be certain you may wish to search the forum & use google.

I wouldn't even think about doing it right now. Wait and see how it affects folk that are already doing it. That's if you want to do it legit. If you are just selling at markets and the like, give it a go.

If it is the TPD you are referring to:

- Liquids containing nicotine will be limited to max 10ml bottles.
- Liquids containing nicotine will be limited to a maximum of 20 mg/ml.

These are the rules already in effect in The Netherlands.

I don't know anything about the business side of all this.

Thanks for the help.

I've had a bit more of a look but I can't seem to find any official documentation. Really does make me question how it's going to be enforced.

I think I'm going to probably leave it a bit, work on a few ideas for more flavours etc then wait to see what happens on the TPD

You won't find much official guidance because they are still writing it. It doesn't start to come into effect in the UK till May and then there will be at least a six month grace period to conform to the regs.
As others have said, not the best time to be starting off in Vape Industry.

We are going to get royally fisted is what's gonna happen

As part of tpd legislation you will need an iso 9001 compliant business system and manufacturing premesis, you will need to register your product with the EU at a cost of £250 ish per flavour per strength, you then need to get each one tested which is being quoted anywhere up to 5k per flavour per strength.

Lube up buddy, lube up good
