Hi all,
I know I should know this myself and I kind of do but want to check for safety. I have always had a friend from a vape shop do these for me but now I am in tier 4 I obviously can't have him round. I have just knackered my hexohm so I will have to use my suicide mods series box until I get it fixed. I use Vtc5 batteries so can someone please just confirm a safe ohm limit for my build please. I have used steam engine but I still am not 100 percent clear. I think my friend builds at around 0.6 ohm for my series box which sounds safe to me but if someone could just clarify that would be really appreciated.
Cheers.. Tim

0.6 is sensible. It’s still 114w at full power, which is a powerful vape, but it’s a safe resistance with those cells.

Just remember to use thick wire and lots of wraps as opposed to thin wire and a few wraps to achieve the 0.6, else the wire will melt under the full voltage.

Check, check and double check your build, screws, deck and resistance though mate. Series boxes are as serious as it gets.

Hi, that's great thank you. I use thick flapton wire so withstands the heat OK. I am happy to step down to 0.7 if that's a safer zone as that still gives me a hefty hit. Thank you for your advice.. Tim

Better to include an extra wrap and you can always remove it later but you certainly can't add one :D

On a series dual battery mech mod using a 0.6 ohm coil you will be vaping at approx 117 watts and will be drawing approx 14 amps from your VTC5 batteries. A 0.5 ohm coil will mean you will be vaping at approx 141watts and drawing nearly 17amps from your batteries so still within the CDR of the VCT5s.
