So as promised after winning this line of juices during a comp, I thought I would give @bozzer89's own juice line 'SMOG JUICE' a damn good grilling using a velocity clone with a single fused clapton at .45ohm using varying wattages on my saturday night dripping session with one of Mr Smirnoff's finest on the side!
First time review apes...hope you enjoy it! @bozzer89 I hope I do your juice line justice.
I give this review as my opinion only, so take it as a representation of my twisted taste buds and their uniqueness after too much whiskey and women!!! After all, we all know taste is subjective.
Edit... I had to return to this for a second session as my three year old had other ideas about me relaxing on sat night.
First up...
Papeman
I chose this one first for its alledged palette cleansing attribute, 'lets plough the road' so to say.
Papaya, peach and mango... to me all the flavour profiles for these fruits are there in the juice. Very smooth, sweet juice this and full of flavour, I did not find it harsh or zingy in any way! Predominant flavour for me is the peach but thats probably because I don't eat mango or papaya very often (the brain and the nose knows). The difficult thing for me was distinguishing them all as individual flavours, they are all so similar! I will say that if you are a fruit juice lover this won't disappoint.
As for the additional flavour or unknown, I tried vaping this juice at around 150W and you can imagine the explosion, I thought I was picking something citrus like a lemon in the background to start with, not sure though as it could be just a bitterness from one of the fruit flavours!
On a side note...the palette cleansing! I have always thought this was a fallacy. Whats wrong with cleaning your teeth twice a day I hear you say... this juice is a true pallete cleanser!!!! After vaping this juice, my other juices in my rotation taste fantastic, I am picking up notes, especially cream, I have never detected before. So maybe you should think about renaming it 'Dr Papeman' lol.
Next...
F.O.T.C
Second one in and we have a winner...This juice made my eyebrows rise up from the beginning...just WOW. Never have I had a juice like this before!! My taste buds were jumping about like minions in a banana plantation! No bananas in this juice though!!
This is one busy complex juice. Just enough cream back note and so well balance with the sweet fruit in there at the foreground. I could easily ADV this in one of my RDTA's. The description states this as having 'strawberry and a mix of wild fruits with a mixture of cream'... bang on!! It actually reminds me of an 'Eton Mess' and the wife agrees. Smooth, smooth, smoooooth!
@bozzer89 absolutely crackin' juice this one!
Next...
Fresa Shake
Loads of cream coming from this one, definitely not as sweet as some other milkshakes I have had, just enough though to be very pleasent. The strawberry is there but it tastes like a back note to the presence of the creaminess, the strawberry is almost smothered out by the cream and you can almost hear it shouting 'help me'.
On a whole, this is a nice juice and as smooth as they come due to the masses of creaminess but I have to say I thought I would have enjoyed this more. I find I prefer the sweeter side of milkshake juices and like to taste the fruit over the cream/milk. But it is what it is... a very creamy milkshake...And thats the last time I use the 'C****m' word.
And last up...
Bomberade
The description says it is a cherry flavoured lemonade and that is exactly what it is...not much to say apart from its very well balanced and every flavour you would expect is in there. A nicely rounded juice of the lemonadey cherrified type.
So my conclusion...
All these juices are very good in their own way, with taste being subjective like it is. My advice... get a 4x10ml sample pack from www.smogjuice.co.uk because there is something in there for everyone.
My favourites of the four have got to be F.O.T.C and Papeman.
If I was to pick just one... for me F.O.T.C rings all the bells and is my clear favourite. The flavour profile is bang on with loads of fruit packed in and the cream smoothing everything off, its complexity is just stunning (I actually went back to this one for a second try after all the others) and its not often that a juice makes me raise my eyebrows in that way!
The full line can now be picked up from www.smogjuice.co.uk and now has official vendor status here at POTV...congrats @bozzer89. Other info and reviews can be seen on www.facebook.com/smogjuice
