I currently have the rba in a baby beast tank on my alien at the minute. I'm Enjoying learning the basics of cleaning and rewicking these coils and not having to use the crap standard coils that burn out in no time!
I'm starting to think it's time to change the coils that came pre installed in this rba though and I'm thinking about wrapping my own. My problem is which wire do I buy that will fit nicely inside as space is quite tight. Does anyone have any recommendations of what they have used? Thanks.

If you measure the claptons that came with it with a coil jig post or whatever, they are 2.5mm coils, so I used 24g kanthal @ 2.5mm for a basic build, which works just fine, came out at about 0.32ohms or why not stick some more claptons in there, again 2.5mm works just fine, you could probably push it to 3mm coils.

Is there a big difference between the two in terms of flavour? After flavour more than clouds. Thanks

Personal preference really mate, but not really, claptons arguably give better flavour, but i've never rated them, i prefer the taste from kanthal. Experiment and find what's best for you.

Yep me too i favour flavour over clouds, but the tfv8 tanks will always give decent vapour production regardless as they have decent airflow.

What's the ramp up time like with the coils you put in?
Are the ones that came installed 24ga? Cheers

Not sure what thickness the pre-installed clapton ones are, measure it. But it's faster with 24g kanthal, because higher mass coils like claptons take a little bit longer to ramp up as you're heating up more metal after all.

Either way just turn the wattage up until you get an acceptable ramp up time for yourself.
