Can anyone help me I do not know what I am doing wrong. I have a cool Fire ultra battery and have bought a SMOK brit mini flavour tank with a 1.2 coil and a 0.2 coil. It says that these can be run at 25w and 20w respectfully but the first one lasted 2 days and the second one keeps tasting burnt. It is costing me a fortune in coils since I had the same problem with my previous ones which were nautilus x. I must be doing something wrong. Help.

i had this tank dude and i found the coil life to be the worst ive ever experienced from any stock coil, so bad that from there i went onto RTAs

Hi @LindaK and welcome to the planet.

to put it mildly, smok are crap, plain and simple. they have flooded the market with kit and their QC is now what lets them down.

i dont know this tank at all but looking at a quick review it shows a 0.6 coil not 0.2
  • 0.6ohm BM2 Dual Core – rated for 15-25W
  • 1.2ohm BM2 Dual Core – rated for 15-35W
firstly what juice are you using and what vg/pg ratio is it.
are you priming the coil first by dripping juice onto the cotton of the coil then putting it in the tank and filling.
then are you starting low. as these are low wattage coils i would say start at 10watts then turn up 1w at a time after a few puffs. going straight in at higher wattage usually could burn out most coils.

Hi
Yes I do prime it and work up to the higher level.
Sorry yes it is 0.6
I am not sure the vg it is the dinner lady juice I use
Have you any recommendations for a better coil

You might be better trying them at lower than the recommended. It says 25w so try 20w and see if that helps. You coudl also think of how you're vaping. If you're taking long draws then the coil might not be able to keep up. Dinner Lady juiice is usually 70vg 30pg, which is quite thick. the 0.6 coils should be able to handle that though.

Thanks for the advice I have it down at 12w at the moment and you can take about 2 draws before it taste burnt.
Can you recommend any better ones. I had the nautilus x and they were the same.

It depends how you vape to be honest. If you're using your vape like a ciggie and taking draws into your mouth (MTL) then the innokin zenith seems quite popular on here. If you're inhaling straight to your lungs (DTL) then there are loads of choices but usually for higher wattages than what you're used to.

as said, dinner lady is 70vg/30pg but are you adding nicotine shot to the juice and is it 100%vg. this will make the juice even thicker and it could be that its too thick for the coils to handle.

just to check on the coolfire. what have you got it set too. unscrew tank, press fire button once, screw tank back on and press fire button. it should give you a choice of W - Ni - Ti - SS you need it set to W wattage.
also on the tank how open is the airflow on the bottom of tank. you can turn the bezzle from fully open to almost closed.

What rtas?
not a good idea for a beginner.
The RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomizer) is a tank system and the RDA (Rebuildable Drip Atomizer) is a dripper system. With rebuildables, you "build" your own coil. In other words, you physically wrap a coil, attach it to the system and add a cotton wick.

as said above are you vaping like a cig so mouth to lung or inhaling into lungs like a bong which is direct to lung.
