Smok TFV12 Review
Buy original SMOK TFV12 TANK here for 27.95USD
Starting off the Smok TFV12 review let’s talk about the coil options. There are six different coil options. When you buy the TFV12 you are going to get the V12-T12 coil which is the 12 headed coil. This is the one that will take you to 350 watts if you want! Right now there aren’t many mods that will go that far. But, there will be. I went up to 300 watts but to get to 350 I will have to wait to get my Smok GX 350 watt quad 18650 mod.
Anyway, here is what comes with the Smok TFV12 kit:
The cost is for an authentic product. Beware of the clones as I always warn. If you see a TFV12 being sold for a price that seems to good to be true, it is probably a clone. We will have a link at the end of the TFV12 review so you can get an authentic product that comes with warranty, low price guarantee and free delivery.
The Smok TFV12 is for cloud chasers looking for huge vapor. The quality is impeccable. The engineering is precise and every connection flawlessly fastens together and attaches to your mod. We expect nothing less from Smok.
Vaping The TFV12
You can chuck huge clouds with the Cloud Beast King. The TFV12 will produce more vapor than you have probably experienced before. But a human being’s lungs are only so big. You will probably throw bigger clouds in terms of distance but that is not where you will notice the real difference. Where you will notice the difference is in the density of the vapor. I am talking about thick, thick vapor. It’s incredible.
You will go through more e-juice but that e-juice is being very efficiently converted into the richest, thickest and flavorful vaping of any tank. That’s my story. Sticking to it.
Intense Nicotine Hits
So, big note here! You will be inhaling more vapor and more nicotine. I enjoy a 3 mg VG e-juice. At 3 mg I get a fully satisfying vape. With the TFV12 tank, 3 mg hits like 6 mg or even more. A lot of e-liquids now are coming out with a 1.5 mg nicotine level and that’s what I would recommend for the Cloud Beast King.
Speaking of the nicotine intensity was something that I really wanted to make clear in my Smoke TFV12 review. Honestly it takes me back a couple of years to when the Atlantis came out and subohm vaping really took off and became the mainstream. I enjoy standard vaping with a 12 mg nicotine e-juice. Of course going to subohm there is a lot more vapor so I found 3 mg to be my preference.
The TFV12 Cloud Beast King tank is almost like going from standard vaping to subohm. The math needs to be recalculated because there is so much vapor. I am thinking you might not believe me and that’s cool but trust me, after you experience the performance of an authentic TFV12, I have a feeling that you will agree. Ad then you will be doing like I did and ordering some 1.5 mg vape juice!
Best Wattage Setting For The TFV12
With such a huge range I wanted to identify the best wattage setting for the TFV12 as part of our ECCR Smok TFV12 review. For example, the T12-V12 coil can vape at anywhere from 60 watts to 350 watts. That is a 290 watt range that you can vape this coil at. So how do you choose?
First it depends on your mod. I will take this occasion to give Smok mods a quick plug. Smoktech is on a roll. Not only with tanks but with phenomenal mods like the Alien or the high tech Smok X-Cube Ultra 220 watt mod. There are a number of 200 or 220 watt mods on the market. There are a few quad 18650 300 watt mods as well. I have been using the X-Cube Ultra 220 most of the time but for the TFV12 review I did break out the 300 watts to try it out.
One thing that I have noticed is that the flavor performance is fantastic regardless of your wattage setting. I could not be happier with the flavors that I’m getting. At 300 watts the vapor is massive and thick as soup. It is a bit warm and the tank gets pretty hot, as one would expect, but no one is going to vape consistently at that type of setting. But when you want to send forth a cloud of near immeasurable proportion, you will certainly be able to do so.
Find Your Vaping Sweet Spot
At about the 200 watt mark the vape is warm but not uncomfortable. You can maintain vaping at 200 watts. If you scale back to the 90 watt to 110 mark you will still enjoy intense and dense vapor very comfortably. With the 12 headed T12-V12 coil or the quad coils vaping at 90 watts to 110 watts is about the sweet spot for day to day vaping. Then when you want to kick it up a notch you can crank up the power and put on a show.
Each coil has a different performance variable. You will want to experiment within the recommended ranges to find your day to day setting and your insane cloud chasing setting! Additionally each coil has a different airflow dynamic. The 12 headed coil has 6 narrow airflow channels. Conversely the V12-Q4 coil has a wide open large diameter center and the airflow is absolutely enormous. So you can adjust the dual airflow control at the base of the tank and fine tune the draw to your ideal.
Adjusting the airflow is very easy and I was impressed with the action of the airflow control because it is easy to adjust while simultaneously holding in place perfectly. The tension level is spot on.
So I have given you my perspective on the best wattage settings but I don’t really want to “recommend” a setting as part of ECCR’s Smok TFV12 review because there is simply such a vast range. The different ranges and vaping variance between coils opens up a lot of possibilities for personal vaping enjoyment. You will find your own sweet spots and enjoy doing so.
Smok TFV12 Specs
Next up for our Smok TFV12 review are the specs. As mentioned it is a large 28 mm vapor tank with a top fill design and huge adjustable airflow. The Cloud Beast King is big! It stands 70 mm tall or 2.8 inches tall. It weights in at 91 grams or 3.2 ounces. The tank is a glass tube so it will handle all of your Max VG e-liquids. You will get an extra glass tube so we like that. You will also get some vape bands with the tank and we recommend that you use them. The vape bands will help to protect the glass from breaking should your mod be knocked over of accidentally dropped.
The coils are very large, the biggest coils that I have seen so far. Accordingly, the airflow has been expanded. Look at the image above and you will see the huge airflow slot set to wide open. It’s awesome. You can adjust the airflow to suit your preference. The TFV12 is leak proof so no worries about leaks and the top fill design helps keep things quick, convenient and clean.
Smok TFV12 Coils
When you buy the TFV12 kit you will get the V12-T12 twelve headed coil. The V12-T12 coil is the one that will handle 350 watts. As mentioned earlier for the Smok TFV12 review I could only go to 300 watts because that’s as high as the quad 18650 Wismec Reuleaux RX300 and the Koopor Primus I own will go. But don’t worry daring vapers, 350 watt mods and 400 watt mods are coming. That’s insane, too. I can’t imagine thing going much further but I am surprised to see coils that can be vaped at 350 watts. My head doth spin. Buy Smok TFV12 our 6 kinds replacement coils here.
4 Prebuilt TFV12 Coils And 2 Rebuildable Coil Decks
Anyway, the other coil heads that you get are the quad coils. You can get RBA decks as well. The V12-RBA-T is a triple RBA deck and you can build up to 3 coils on this deck. The deck is very large and easy to build on. You can also get the V12-RBA deck for a dual coil design.
We have talked about the rebuildable decks and the V12-T12 prebuilt coil, now lets go over the rest of the Smok TFV12 coils. The remaining three pre-built coil options that you will have are the V12-X4 0.15 ohm quad coil, the V12-Q4 0.15 ohm ceramic coil, and finally the V12-T6 0.16 ohm sextuple six headed coil.
