This is a personal review of a product I bought from (http://www.charliesvapeshop.co.uk). The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of this website, planetofthevapes.co.uk

Item: Smoktech U-DCT Tank with disposable Cartomizer included.

Intro / Notes: This is my first ever Carto system and I am usually a Viva Nova user. I wanted to give an alternative delivery system / method a try.

About the product: Rather than rip the sales pitch from a site, I'll just throw my initial thoughts.
This is a plastic tank system which accept Dual Coil Tanks (and maybe some Single Coil which have been given a DCT name. Therefore you can switch from brands if you wish to do so or have a favourite.
The finish is good, a chrome plates metal, which as with all chrome finishes will pick up finger prints but a quick cloth and it's shining again.
The bottom of the tank has a locking ring (see pics below) which goes hand in hand with the Smoktech DCT Cartomizers designed for this tank. The cartomizer is flanged at the base, which stops upward movement, the lock ring then screws onto the base, this in turn stops downward movement. This has a limitation in the fact that the Carto can only be inserted and removed one way but gives the great advantage of the tank staying on the Carto. This is the sole reason I went for this unit.
The drip tip is included and is a clear plastic / poly material. It works, but also shows up unsightly condensation.
The included tank comes pre-punched so everything you get in the kit makes it ready to run, just add juice, battery / mod, prime it and fire away.
The inclusion of the locking ring means that in some mods, the airflow is blocked when screwed right down, you therefore have to loosen it a little to allow for airflow.
The included Carto is listed and measures at 1.5 ohm. Some devices have a 1.0 to 1.2 ohm cutoff so it's safety above that.
This is listed as a 6ml tank. I assume that is 4.5ml for the tank and 1.5 for the Cartomizer.

How does it work:
I think that maybe I was under the wrong impression when I got this. I expected a super super vape which would lead to me smashing up all my Vivi Novas. I was a tad disappointed. Having used it for about 2 days though, a couple of things have really stood out.
1. Zero dry hits!
2. It hasn't leaked.
Those two, as well as the fact that it is still going strong and still looks good means this ends up getting my vote.
To try and explain my initial disappointment, I might be lucky with a couple of my Novas (I have a couple of crappy ones too) but the vape itself seems muted a little. The only way I can explain it is that this is like adding another silencer to an exhaust. It's quieter (muted) and no doubt going to take a bit of power away. This could be a direct result of the tighter draw I am seeing.

Likes:
Sleek design
Locking ring which holds the tank in place
Ready to run

Dislikes:
Locking ring will probably cause me to lose some juice when I swap Cartos.
Black Drip Tip may have looked smarter.

Overall:
Overall, I am very happy with this, really pleased I have zero dry hits so far and looking forward to trying some other Cartos in here. I appreciate I will lose the locking ring safety if I try a non flanged unit but it's all part of the fun.

Great review James, it is appreciated

Thanks. I suspect many people are in the same boat I was. Advised to go Clearo, but then feel the need to try other things. I am hoping the size comparisons show it's not a beast I originally thought it would be.

I've had both and would go for a vamo even with hot spring issue at the moment, gives you a VV and VW, why don't you offer a trade for your v2.1 as you should get a good swap and aim for something higher like a provari or zmaxv2, just make sure you get value if you decide to trade and check the retail on any offer....just a thought

thanks mark, what are the benifits of the provari or zmax, sorry for all the questions but want to make sure i get the right thing

Reliability on the provari and control on both units as you can run most things on them, the problem with the Orion is its a hybrid and a very good one at that but an all in one set up, when I was looking I checked all the you tube videos I could igetcha69 and todd are a great source of information, I would hold out on the Orion for the price and get hold of a cheap battery mod, I started with an LT but soon moved and for the price it's worth it a full kit from Charlie's vape shop is less than £27.00 so not going to break the bank.
