Do any of you guys change your pg/vg ratio depending on the flavour? I've been mixing 50/50 and am finding some of my flavours a little harsh. I was thinking of maybe putting in more VG if the flavour is citrus.
For flavours with caramel, vanilla and coconut, 50/50 seems to be fine for a nice smooth vape but if I start using pineapple, it seems to be a bit rough.

Any suggestions or semi-secret tips for a flavourful smooth vape?

I dont generally go for any juice with less than 50% pg. I tend to find Tobacco flavours suit vg more though. Tobacco flavours feel a bit scratchy the higher the pg content, but i like the punch you get from citric juices and they go hand in hand with pg.
If your finding it a bit harsh just try dropping by 10% at a time and see what results you get.
Although manufacturers have a suggested ratio for their concentrates i tend to find sharp fruits like pineapple etc require less of the concentrate in the overall mix. Maybe the strength of the flavour is thing making the vape a bit uncomfortable.
Step 1. Lower the pg, up the vg and see what you find.
step 2. Try adjusting the amount of concentrate used :)
see how you go and let us know :)

I buy most of my stuff off the shelf and am not really a DIYer but I know what you mean Seedy - I also vary my nic content dependent on the juice. Nice creamy type juices I'll happily vape at a higher nic level but sharp, citus type juices I'll lower it down so there maybe a link between the two there.

You may be right about the amount of concentrate. I've been adding more lately because I didn't think the flavour was strong enough. I've worked up to 30% on some mixtures.
I think I expect to get too much from juice. I should just eat the real thing :-)
Thanks for your help.

I think there is. Nic does give TH. I'm working my way down and am now at 10mg. Ideally, I want to get right down to 4mg but want a bit of TH. Trial and error I suppose. :-)

I normally vape around 12mg (15 or 18 if it's creamy) but if I get lower mg juices in a trade etc' that are too low for me I vape them in a dripper or make a lower ohm coil to compensate.

I have only been mixing a short while so no is the answer. The quality of liquids can change so much due to steeping method and time factor that if I start making too many differences in the recipe to start with, I may confuse matters even more. As an example I made a dark chocolate and coffee liquid about well over a month ago, and being a Jaffa lover or anything Orange come to think of it, I fired a few drops of Orange concentrate in it as well. After a week or so the smell of Orange in the bottle seemed to dominate everything, and the same when it come to testing it. It was as sharp as fuck really with hardly any TH, but now it has really mellowed out a lot, much smoother, flavours seem more subtle and a good vape and throat hit. My conclusion is that there is no substitute for time. I think it is a question of knowing when any diy juice has reached it`s maximum potential and ticks all the box`s. Only then can you start to make adjustments to compensate for whatever it is that you feel is lacking.
