Hi folks,
I tend to mainly mix tobacco-ish juices, which, as is their character, can tend to be a tad harsh. I may, of course, have dreamt this, but I seem to recall that there is an additive used to smooth out the harshness. If it's not a figment of my imagination, can anybody tell me what the additive is called and also a supplier?
I know extra VG can smooth things out, but now I have this additive thing on my brain.

There is one made by Flavour Arts ... can't remember its name now ...

but equally .. try using various sweeter flavours in small percentages .. you can try to imagine what flavour notes are exactly the opposite of the harshness you experience - get that right and it will cancel the harshness out ... a bit of experimentation and you can really round off the harsh edges of a tobacco like that, and end up with an interesting mix to boot.

Thanks for the reply ZT I've tried adding a tads worth of caramel, which did round things off, but at the same time, just leaned towards an RY4ish vape. So, as you suggest, I'll try another sweeting variant on my next batch. My gut feeling is a bit of sucralose rather than ethyl maltol, but I won't know until I try.

sucralose or EM will sweeten but not mask the harshness ... you are on the right line with caramel I feel .. but experiment with other sweet flavours that way you can edge away from the ry4 scenario ...

plenty to choose from and experiment with dude ...

I could tell you a few that work well .. but that would be giving the whole game away for me :D

I've got a sort of 'mental picture' of an end result. That's an acidic sweetness, kind of like the old fashioned acid drops. I like M&P's citrus tobacco and dragon tobacco, mixed off the bat, nowt extra added, so in that respect, my 'holy grail' is too achieve that sweet acidity, with less of the fruitiness. Now @ZT, that goal should keep me busy for a while :D

Hmm Beetroot?

I'm thinking all sorts of vegeatables now, and possibly a twist of honey to add body.
