Hi everyone, I have an SMY SDNA 75 that I need the positive wire soldered back in place on the 510, as when I fixed the spring loaded battery section somehow the 510 positive came loose.

However, the mod is not powering on with an 18650, however the mod powers on via USB and connects to Escribe fine, and even shows the battery as being fully charged so it must be making a connection!

I have checked the wires, they are all soldered in place solid, there are no cold solder joints or loose connections.

Anyone more up on the Evolv mods that could have any idea what is going on? As my friend was coming to solder the positive back in place to the 510, but if it won't turn on with a battery there is not much point.

Have you checked the board? Could be a lose joint there. Only other thing I could think of would be a weak spring it could be making enough connection to read the battery but not enough for the power needed to fire the atty.

Yes I have checked the board, the positive and negative wire are soldered very well to the board.
It's funny you mention a weak spring as thats exactly why I had the mod apart. I made a spring out of 24G kanthal, do you think this may not be strong enough to power on the mod but just enough to make a connection as you describe?

That's why. Kanthal is resistance wire. So your getting a huge volt drop through the connection, so you're not getting anywhere Mnear the power you need.

Try SS. Or see if you can source a spring from somewhere.

OK that makes perfect sense, I just thought where the part the bottom of the Kanthal spring connects too is insulated rubber it wouldn't matter and not form part of the circuit- my brain does work in funny ways sometimes lol.

I unfortunately am out of SS at the moment, so will see if I can think of anywhere that would have a small spring I can use.

Old remote is a fantastic idea, I am sure I have one somewhere! Thank you mate :)
Be a good temporary fix. But won't last long. I've had some good results in the past with manufacturers and after market spares. May be worth an email see if they will sell one.

Failing that. Stealth vape stock an exceptional range of mod building parts. May be able to find a more suitable connection there. But at least in the meantime time it will/should fire.
