So I have read a few times about testing juice on different atomisers but have never really bothered.
I have recently steeped a new batch of juice. I'll use one flavour for example. A few weeks ago I mixed up some 'forest fruits' from flavourart. Lovely juice! I noted that 20% was the sweet spot and enjoyed it for a week or so before it ran out. I had recently got a Mutation X which I had been using for said week or so.
Forward to earlier this week. I ordered some more forest fruits, mixed it up at 20% and put it away to steep for a few days. Grabbed it out if the cupboard, dripped into my plumeveil (this weeks atty of choice), fired it up and - WOAH!!! - far to much flavour! I nearly choked on it! I'm currently systematically diluting it, trying to find a new sweet spot; but today I thought I'd get back to that Mutation X. Suddenly it's almost not strong enough!
I'm sure this is nothing new to most! It's obvious when I think about it. I just thought I'd make a post here, mainly for those who, like me, are fairly new to mixing. I knew different attys give different levels of flavour but I didn't know quite how extreme it could be!
Take away point... mix in an atty that can represent the flavour properly. Since getting that Mutation X I've wondered why people say it's not so good for flavour. Now I know why I thought that... I was compensating for its lack of flavour production but mixing to high!
EDIT: P.S. I wondered why the suggested percentages for flavourart are all so much lower than I use! Haha!
