How do y'all build your squapes?
Did 2 x 2mm silica build and worked well. I sat it on my ohm checker overnight and it leaked all over the bloody thing.
So before I mess about coiling again thought I'd see what everyone else was doing

Microcoils and cotton. Bit fiddly to get the right amount, too much and you get dry hits and not enough and it leaks but easily the best attie I own. I bought a second one as soon as I got the first set up. Stunning vape.

I don't use cotton in my rba's, it tastes funky to me and I don't like risking a dry hit if I hit it too hard. Overtime bits of melting cotton fumes has to be worse than smoking. I'm still waiting on a totally clean non fibrous heat resistant wicking material to be invented. Until then I'm all silica. I did use cotton in my drippers until I started going below 0.7 ohm and it just turns the cotton black with the heat.

Have you tried mesh in the squape yet?

Since I've had my squape I've stuck to the same wick build. A 2mm silica / mesh hybrid. I wrap a small piece of mesh around the silica leaving about 2mm of silica exposed at each end. I normally aim to wrap a coil at between 2 and 2.4 ohm for my tobacco juices, suits me for vaping at between 8 and 9 watts
