This is a Numpty attempt at reviewing the SS Roller from Atmizoo.
I'm not connected to anyone anywhere in the Vaping industry and certainly not employed or connected to the wonderful madhouse that is POTV...
I've never done a review before so bare with me while I ramble and do my best to get across my thoughts and experiences.
It took a couple of weeks of daily-ish visits to the Atmizoo website to actually find an SS Roller in natural matt finish in stock, I really wanted matt as I'm not a fan of the shiny fingerprint magnets as I dribble a bit now I'm older.
A couple of weeks ago they had what I wanted in stock, pee'd a little and filled out the forms in record time at which point I sat back expecting a Chinese type wait for my 'Preciouses' to arrive...
24 hours later I got the email saying it had been shipped. complete with tracking code and regular updates..
I think the chart below explains it well enough, now that's service, if only the UK could ship to the UK like that !
What is interesting is the delivery note and invoice does not list the Roller as a single item but as a collection of parts, this is because you have the option to have each part, tube, head, button and base cap in a different finish if you wish and I believe each part has a lifetime guarantee for all metal parts and 2 years for all plastic parts or metal parts under mechanical stress and the warranty also provides free access to re-designed parts that may be released in order to correct functional issues of the original design..
I opened the box, pee'd again and immediate tested the 2 things reviewers I had seen liked, the tube thread, amazing, as smooth as smooth thing from smoothville, in fact the only thing smoother I can remember involved my index finger some margarine and large Goose...
Then there is the button, it is by far the best button I have experienced, it is Atmizoos own patent pending design that twists to lock although it's not a lock as such as the button movement doesn't change it's actually a circuit break, the throw on the button is about 3mm and is smooooooth and squidgey almost as if it was an air regulated movement rather than a spring, the lock mechanism is easy, not too stiff or fiddly, something the Sig #20 didn't manage.
Talking of the sig #20 , I have one, it is a blatent clone attempt but damn did they miss the point, I know it's about the quarter of the price but it is a tenth of the quality and feel, you just know when you have quality in your hand it's a million small things that can be hard to quantify with any justice. At least that's what I tell the wife.
The Roller now comes with an interchangeable brass 501 connection, one that allows your atty of choice sit flush to the head or a slightly raised option if your atty has it's airways in the base, there is no ego threading here and no option I know of from Atmizoo.
I have done a back to back comparison with the roller and an RSST @ 1.5 ohms, swapping onto an SVD and a Vamo all on fully charged 18650's and 18350's set in Voltage mode @4.1 volts and all I can say is F*CK I get it now, no rattle snake and hold that button until you can take no more.
As far as my cheapy little meter can tell the Roller nicks nothing along the way, like I said I'm not a reviewer or anywhere near expert in these things but I can sure as hell tell the difference between the SS Roller, Sig #19 , Sig#20 , SVD and the Vamo and once I get home I slap a genesis on the Roller and that's me for the evening, nothing I have comes close in performance, feel and outright feel good factor...
When I ordered the Roller I saw something unusual, 'The Hive' a name that brings fear to hearts of Stargate Atlantis fans but fear not it's a rather neat and classy atomiser stand, it hold 3 atomisers and 3 drip tips which anyone with a passion to swap between Genesis atty's during the evening will know what a handy thing that might be, I've tried standing them in cut down juice bottles and propping them in all sorts of ways but they do fall over and leak, not now though, my desk is a thing of beauty thanks to my milled aluminium thingy, it also makes coil building and maintenance a lot easier as the 3 bays each have their own 501 thread set into the base and due to it's thick metal design it is very stable.
Bottom line is these are not cheap but they are well worth it in my opinion, the Hive is €28.90 and the SS Roller is €110.70 in matt or polished, media blasted is €114.39 and a custom combo of parts €116.08 all plus shipping, these are the prices listed today on the site and I'm sure subject to change, best to check the date of this review and then your calendar before running to purchase and suffering a heart wrenching disappointment if the price has jumped.
Lots of love
