SS316L coils in wattage mode

Forgive me if this has already been covered, but I can't for the life of me get the hang of SS316L.

I'm trying to build in the region of 1ohm, using 27awg, but whenever I try to settle the coil in before wicking the ohms are jumping all over the place.

Anybody got any recommendations on guides etc?

Are you using spaced or contact coils? For tc mode spaced coils are best, if not the only type you should be using for tc mode with SS316L

I've found it better to not lock the resistance.

Make sure the 510 screw and all the post screws are nice and tight.

Go through the process of firing and squeezing until you get a nice even glow. I've found SS won't settle at the correct resistance until it gets properly hot and it's OK after that.

I've tried both spaced and contact. I'm a complete novice with TC - still working out my DNA 75

Nice one dude, I'll get there in the end (hopefully). I persevered with mesh, so can't be half as tricky.
