Assuming you can swap between TC and Watt mode on same coil and back again? (Wire permitting)

I have some silly questions I know ,but trying to learn and when you read the warnings about Nickel it just seems better to be safe than sorry

The only wire you can do that with is stainless steel. Every other wire is either wattage or temp mode- not both.

However as you have to lock your resistance to use temp mode if you've been using a stainless coil in wattage mode you'll have to let it cool down before switching to temp, otherwise the read resistance will be wrong because the coil will be hot.

If you don't ask you don't get and usually the silliest Q is the one you don't ask.

As above, SS is the only wire you can use in both TC and proper power mode.
There are a few guides on how to get the best out of that TC somewhere on the forum and a fair few useful videos on youtube. Be worth your time going thro' them.

You can swap between TC and Power modes on SS wire without any worry, I have to ask however, why you'd want to...
If you've got your TC build set up correctly then the only instantly noticeable difference should be a distinct lack of dry hits as your juice runs low. Properly setup TC builds do everything that a "Normal" build will do and as an added bonus you get far less gunk on coils and wicks, no dry hits and I personally think you get a better taste. I still use traditional power only setups - but mostly in drippers or tanks with factory made coils.

Thanks gents. Are the Uwell Crown coils SS? Not the Ni200 obviously.

I haven't used TC mode , but reading about some of the benefits thought I would like to give it a go but have been using it in Power mode, so just checking you could switch between modes without any problems.

If you get it right (It takes a little practice building the coils and getting the wick right) then you'll probably find it unnecessary to swap. But yes you can swap, and as long as you are using a regulated device and are confident in your building skills and knowledge of your mod then it's actually safe to use any wire in power mode - I just wouldn't reccomend it until you're used to the way these things behave so you can catch any problems before they get serious - just as with anything that requires a "Learned skill set" start out easy and build up to the complex stuff...

I really like the vape I get from SS316, and while most of my mods are either variable TCR or OK with SS, I still like to use it with mods that can't do TC with SS. Handy tip…on a mod with SS316 TC, I adjust the wattage/joules to find the point where a 3-4 second burst doesn't quite trip protection mode. This seems to be the best wattage to set in power mode for the same coil.
