Sx350 gravity sensor issues

I have a svb mod with a sx350 chip in it the gravity sensor appears to have retired from being a gravity sensor meaning while i can get in to the menus i cna't change any settings .

I've tried the usual options of a bit of percussive maintenance and switching it on and off but with no joy .

I did read about reflashing the firmware on it but this requires the tilt sensor to function to switch the link option on .

I also though that i could have buttons retro fitted to it but i believe that the buttons are still not used to change settings apart from the wattage , am i correct in thinking this ?

Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Failing that does anyone have any suggestions of who may be able to fit a new board in it for me .

I saw somthing similar, not on here on the FB page of either the SX350 modders group or the the SX mini brotherhood..
If youve got FB join the group and post you might get a result...Im sure somebody in the modders group will have a solution (4500 members) if your not on FB let me know and I will post it for you..

Not sure about the 350 but the 350J allows you to use the UP & DOWN to navigate...

Apparently not unfortunately from what i've read on a couple if sites just now ,

I have reinstalled the firmware now , with the battery out it can connect by usb without having to turn link on in the menus , hasn't made any differnce though .

Although i could adjust the wattage if i had buttons installed which is all i really need to do from the menus the fact i would need some one else to do the work seems to point towards it making more sense just to have a new chip put in if i can find someone who will do it .

iam sure if you retro fit buttons they do all the same functions as the gravity sensor you just need to press the fire button 5 times and then use the up down buttons to go through the menu

I've recently had a custom box with the sx350 chip repaired. The chip had problems and needed replacing, I sent mine off to Wayne Socrates Stones (on FB) and while his work was very reasonably priced, the chip itself is still very expensive. I would contact Nigel who made it, he might offer to have a look and offer a price for a new chip.

I did check out the price of the chip they are pretty expensive .

I didn't buy the mod originally from nigel it was bought from here , I may try contacting him but it seems a bit cheeky if he's a builder who only fixes his own mods
