Hi Everyone,
I was contacted by Evan from heavensgifts.com who asked me if I'd like to do a written review of the Target VTC kit by Vaporesso.
I jumped at the chance. I really wanted to try this because it looks so damn cool.
Now a decent proportion of you may be thinking - no Pauly it doesn't look cool , it looks ridiculous.
I'm not going to tell you you're wrong (even though you are ) This device has really divided people.
Some love it , some hate it.
It comes in several finishes - black , white and steel so far with more to come.
It comes with
1 x Target tank with a cCELL coil (0.2ohm cCELL Ni200 pre-installed)
1 x Target 75W Box Mod
1 x Extra replacement cCELL Kanthal coil (0.9ohm)
1 x USB cable
1 x User Manual
Lets have a look at the mod first.
Mod Dimension: 92x 48x 27 mm
Temp Range: 150 - 315 °C / 300F - 600F
OutPut Wattage: 5W - 75W
Minimum Resistance : 0.15ohm
Battery cell type: 1x 18650 battery (not included)
Casting: Zinc Alloy and Stainless steel
Thread: 510 Thread
Display: OLED
At the base of the mod we see some vent holes and a micro usb charge port:
Dunno if you can see by thiese pics but I think the brushed steel effect is just a coating - it doesn't feel like a steel device , it's rather light.
But that form factor though , it's totally unique looking and feels very comfortable in the hand. I love the trigger switch , it's very clicky and responsive.
The display is bright and clear.
You can lock the device , flip the display , lock the resistance and change from VW to TC (Ni only).
In TC mode you can't adjust the wattage so you're stuck at 70W
That's not ideal for me but it's fine for subtanks and it's working very nicely at 450f.
The threads at least appear to be real steel , they feel very solid with a spring loaded 510. Every atty I've tried has fired just fine.
The textured grip section is smart , it's also the battery cover , held on very firmly by 2 magnets. (as with all high power box mods - a quality high drain battery is required)
The tab at the top part of the cover slots into the mod. I fear for the longevity of this little tab as a certain amount of pressure is required to remove the cover.
So that's about it for the mod , It doesn't feel weighty or chunky but it's a unique looking device that's been working perfectly for me. I really like it
On to the tank!
Tank Size: 22 (D) x 62mm (L)
Tank volume: 3.5ml
This is a rather ordinary looking sub-ohm tank - it's bottom fill with adjustable airflow. Easily to take apart for cleaning.
It comes with 1 x kanthal 0.9ohm coil
and 1 x 0.15ohm ni200 coil.
(they're gold plated for some reason)
The are the CCell heads made by Vaporesso and they're pretty unique. They feature a single vertical coil which is incorporated into a solid ceramic wick:
I'd tried ceramic coils before and thought they sucked big time.
The flavour was great but they just couldn't keep up with the wicking.
These new ones are quite different though.
The flavour is really spot on , very clean.
They wick very well (I saw on another reviewers vid that he managed to dismantle a coil and found the hard ceramic shell (which the coil is kind of fused into) is surrounded by a wad of cotton.
It certainly explains why it wicks so well.
TBH it even overwicked for me , leading at times to unwanted gurglage.
Conclusion .
The tank is a bit blah but those coils are pretty interesting and the flavour is really something else.
The mod is behaving very nicely in VW and TC mode and I think it looks amazing.
Overall it's a very distinctive kit with some innovative touches that's really performing.
