As some of you know, I and my partner are in the process of building a Scottish Mod, "The Claymore"
I intend to keep a diary of the build here....
Today it all came another step further in a long journey.
We both headed from Glasgow to St Andrews to see Andy, our engineer, sometimes called gepetto, because he builds "toys"
in his man cave...(See photos)
To cut a (really) long story short, after six and a half hours on the lathe, we converted a bar of Naval Brass into the prototype of the bottom switch...We now have all the correct measurements to produce the finished product, It's still a bit rough, (needs polishing etc) but we fitted it to a Sigelei telescopic mod and lo and behold it all works, and works well.
A few final modifications and at least that part will be finished....
Next instalment will be the top section with the floating head....
