The Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission issued warning letters to 13 makers, distributors, and retailers of e-cigarette liquids on Tuesday. In a phone conference for media, FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb stated that the businesses are harming children by promoting the items to look like juice boxes, cookies, or sweets.
"Consider the lollipop. I'm not sure how my 4- or 5-year-old doesn't see a lollipop in that. It's a lollipop, "he stated.
E-liquids are used in electronic cigarettes, and they frequently include nicotine, which can cause sickness – even death – if consumed by a little kid. Smurf Sauce and V'Nilla are two of the products being attacked.
