Curiosity about the touch screen got the better of me so bought one. These are my thoughts on it and what it was like to use over a few days. It came with 2 Pixo fixed mesh clear side fill pods (1.0 and 0.4ohm), a type C charging cable, a good user manual, a handy quick start screen guide and a microfibre cloth.
It’s nice looking, quite light, well made, is comfy to hold and use, the body appears to be zinc alloy with plastic front and back panels, weight 78g. Airflow adjustment is on the side with the fire/menu button and the screen on the front and charging port on the base. A full charge at 2A takes ≈ 35mins, it displays a helpful % while charging, it gets quite warm. I didn’t notice until it arrived but the curved base means it won’t stand upright.
The screen is clear and legible outdoors, it shows firing mode, output mode, volts, ohms, battery bar/battery %, puff counter and duration. 5 clicks turns it on/off, it initially defaults to SMART mode so you can just start vaping. 3 clicks brings up the menu, scroll, tap or go back like a smartphone, the options are:- Output Mode (smart/watts), AB Mode (auto/button firing or both), Puff Record (empty option to reset), Vibration (when tapping, on/off), Screen Settings (brightness/off time), Themes (3 choices), Animations (3 choices when firing or off), About (chipset version/upgrade option *). 2 down swipes of the screen adjusts the watts, tap the +/- screen buttons and press the fire button to confirm, it round robins with no resistance limits, the screen needs to be on to adjust, the settings are retained when it’s turned off. Touch screens struck me as a bit of a gimmick but it’s the star of show with this and I found it much easier to use than pod kits you have to press a button multiple times to select stuff and if you’re like me forget how many it is or end up with the wrong one.
* If you long press in About it asks you to connect a usb disc, 3 clicks resets it to the factory defaults, 5 clicks exits without doing anything but doesn’t turn it off.
The pods are a snug, secure fit, remove to fill and to see if the juice level is very low. The airflow adjuster remains in place, it has 3 slots and 1 small air hole that looks about 0.8mm. The latter is closed with 3 slots open, open if 2 or 1 slots are and when all slots are closed. With the 1ohm pod at 8 watts, a 50/50 NET and the single hole open it produced nice flavour with a good mtl draw though not what I’d call a tight 0.8mm one. Both auto draw and button firing work fine though it makes a low buzzing noise. I’ve had no leaking and just a tiny bit of condensation in the base so far but as ever time will tell.
It’s a very nice pod kit with good flavour and the touch screen works a treat, niggles are it won’t stand upright though you do get used to that and the buzzing noise. I smiled at Aspire’s claimed up to 4 days vaping.
