How To thread repair on a mod

hello apes
i got a part from StealthVape DSC00564-20140517-111256.jpg
thats to good not share here

Rob should have stock soon we hope
right then,
i have a fast tec brass M16 with a knackered thread this is how i repaired it
look at the pic above unscrew the copper adjuster, discard
unscrew the black insulator, discard
remove the lock nut ,discard
take your top cap off the M16
push out the spring loaded floating pin from the atty side
i had already fitted the insert in these photos

drill out your old threads to 8.5 mm, I scraped what was left of the sticking up brass off ,so the insert will sit flush.
you will see what i mean when you look .
tap new thread to 9mm x .75
screw in the insert with lock tight, i had to cut insert down about 3 or 4 mm before fitting you will need to get the length right before you lock tight it

push in the floating pin

this worked great for me i will get a spare insert in case i have other mod probs
mine was totally us, so had nothing to lose

Just a up date
the repair is still working with no signs of it wherein out
very happy
