TPA Raspberry advice

Fellow DIYers, has anyone had any experience with TPA Raspberry? Been working on a fruity lemonade recipe, and it tasting like ass.

I've narrowed it down to the raspberry from TPA being the issue. Note, the smell of the TPA Raspberry concentrate doesn't really smell like Raspberry, it's a very artificial/detergent smell, and when I vape the mix, it tastes like dishwashing soap *eugh*

1) The % of Raspberry used is 4%. Is this not enough/too much, do I need more/less?
2) maybe the Raspberry is incompatible with other ingredients? (Lime, strawberry, lemon juicy, mandarin, apple candy, lemonade from TPA/FA)
3) 70/30 juice 3mg nicotine steeped for a few days. Does it require a longer steep?
4) OR Is it just one of those shit concentrates?

Thanks for any advice!

I use it but at much less of a percentage and with INW raspberry or INW raspberry shisha. Anything over 2% and it starts tasting shit to me. I don't get the dishwasing taste but it's not pleasant. Funnilly enough I get a burny type sensation from anything over 2% with the INW raspberry and that's how I found the TPA stuff.

I'd also suggest you steep it at least a week as it's also one of those flavours that seem to mellow with a wee bit longer in the cupboard.

This is all just my experience with it though. Other folk might be fine with it.

Thanks for the response Gitchy. I'd describe the taste as a burnt/soapy taste, kind of hard to describe, but it isn't pleasant!

I'll drop the % down to 2% and leave it for a good week and see how it goes. Thanks for the advice!

No problem mate. I'm still quite new to it all myself but I'm learning slowly lol.

I've not had much joy with TPA Rasberry to be honest but that could just be me.
I made a pink lemonade with it around the 2% mark ....tasted..just not right.

Just heard back from DarkStar and this was their response:

"Hi Billy,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Our mixologist recommends you to use only 1-2% of the raspberry. According to him, it might bring out the liquid's taste better if you reduce this amount.

Please get back to us. "

So will give it a go at 1% and 2% and report back, bit sceptical at such a low % though, feel like I won't actually taste the raspberry you know...

Good news! 1% and 2% concentrations get rid of that disgusting taste completely.

The only downside is you can't really detect the Raspberry flavour that well, which is disappointing :25:

Try mixing it with another raspberry which will bring the flavour out. I mix 2 or 3 together to get a nicer taste.

Gitchy, what sort of % wise do you recommend on the mix ?

Thanks

Andy

I personally like 2% Inw Raspberry or 2% Inw shisha raspberry. The shisha's nice but I find it a wee bit watery at times so probably best with the normal inw raspberry.

For cap or another Tpa then probably better with 3 or 4%. Might also try 1 or 2% flavourart instead but I've not had that one yet myself.

One or 2 mixed should give you a nice strong raspberry. I've been a wee bit obsessed with raspberry and blueberry lately so trying to get them all to see what I like best.

I'd say it also depends on what you're mixing as well. I like the 2 inw ones mixed in just fruits but I've tried an ice cream recipe from elsewhere with Tpa sweet raspberry and inw in it and that works really well in that but not as well for me in a fruit mix.
