There must be someone in this country who manufactures a range of magnets and copper springs to fit popular mods. There must be someone who retails upgrade pins in copper or silver-plated copper...or replacement pins for buggered ones.

But I'm damned if I can find them.

Anybody know of a UK retailer who does this or plans to?

Weird that!!! I've been Googling Furiously for the past Two Hours ( No Thats not a Metaphor ) For Chi Magnets with no luck in this Country whatsoever!!!:28:

I've ordered some 10x6x2mm ring magnets from Guys which should arrive any day now. They may be very slightly too large (wide and deep) to go into the Chi as they are, but depending on the exact size they turn out to be, a little grinding should get them to fit. I make the cavity in the Chi 9.91mm. The depth is harder to gauge, and the repulsion may be ridiculously over the top, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. If they don't work at all, they'll serve as battery spacers in the Nem when using certain atties with flat top batteries.

I'm after a longer center pin for the Nem clones, too, but I'm not about to pay more for them (once shipped) than I did for the mods.

That's half the problem, he doesn't.

But it's mainly pins, magnets are a cosmetic thing, I want to replace battered ones and upgrade others.

I can see where you are coming from and it would be a good thing if some of the UK suppliers of Mods and Atty`s were to source some spares for us. I think your best option at the moment Mawsley is to try and find a local person who is into turning their own bits and pieces out for a hobby they might have, such as scaled trains plains etc. A visit to the nearest model shop might give you a lead.

The magnets I ordered - actually, the replacements for the magnets I ordered (first lot failed to arrive) - have landed this morning. The 10x6x2mm rings were actually 10x8x2mm, and they did need a little grinding to get them into the cavity on the Chi clone - I put them onto a nut-and-bolt, into the drill chuck, and applied a file to the perimeter - but it is done, and it is good. The chi will now stand up, in 18650 mode with a tank on top, without auto-firing.
