Hi all
Sorry if this has been covered before, I've spent hours on the search bar today and still have unanswered questions.

Im thinking of buying the svd kit from FT, now i know its telescopic and it can take different battery's, i was wondering which batteries i would need for each size and if they would be ok ordered from FT and what to charge them with, also could someone recommend a good clearo to use with it? I keep seeing these metal ones but haven't got a clue what they are and where to start. As you can prob tell i don't know much about these battery mods so any help will be welcomed :)

Thanks
Jo

Right, the SVD uses the same chip as my SID... Therefore, I feel I can answer this one!
The SVD Is vw, so as a result, it's much easier to use. I guess you know that already. I also guess you know about the "no under 1.2ohm" rule linked to these devices (annoyed the hell out of me before i learned to microcoil!)
NOW, battery wise. I'm a bit of a show off, and like to show all the ladies my length of rock hard goodness by using an 18650, which also lasts the longest. However, It isn't exactly 'pocketable' in an sid, so an svd which is a tad larger, may prove a bit bulky!
As a result, I would get 2 18650s (2200mAh ish samsungs/panasonics UNPROTECTED) and 2 18350s (900mAh ish UNPROTECTED) to use ;)
Just for the love of god, get decent batteries, I've had a a battery go into meltdown, and it's not fun. :P
Also, as for a clearo, I liked the protank until the threads went. So, now I would say: Have you tried dripping? If not, try it. It's fucking amazing :P

You can use 18650, 18500, and 18350 batteries, I would also recomment the Protank2 or Protank mini2, or one of the other BCC tanks with pyrex tube. DO NOT buy Trustfire batteries, AW IMR are safe batteries to use but for batteries and chargers check http://www.torchythebatteryboy.com as for chargers again I wouldnt bother with FT unless you buy an XTAR or Nitecore. If you are going to be changing battery sizes a lot I'd also reccomend a tube of Contralube 770 from Maplins, Its a conductive grease that will ensure your threads dont wear as easily from being worked a lot...

Hi
Thanks for your reply :)

I know nothing about ohm im afraid :( Recoiling and wicking is next on my list to read up about.
I have tried dripping tho but i haven't found it as beneficial as others seem to have, maybe its because I'm quite new to it.

I keep seeing ' unprotected batteries' what does that mean?

Also the length and pocket-ability shouldn't be a problem with my handbag but i think to save drawing attention to myself i may keep the large size for personal use at home ;)

Thanks again
Jo

Thanks very much for your reply, i think i will keep clear of FT and batteries, i keep hearing alot about these pro tanks, i think i'll have to do some reasearch into them. Thanks for the contralube advice that will come in handy also, dont want to mess up my new toy :)

Basic rule of thumb USED to be - Lower ohms = More vapour and warmer.
However, with VW, the ohms are pretty much irrelevant...
I can get the same 'kind' of vape with a 1.2ohm coil, as I can with a 2.9 ohm coil (what I am using at the moment).
The protanks are a good tank as mentioned previously, but if you're a "just chuck it in the bag" kind of person like me, I think that something more robust will be beneficial... Mainly as i've had 3 connector threads snap on me, out of.. well.. 3 bases. :(
Unprotected means there's no amp cut off limit I think? As VW devices have their own inbuilt amp thingy mabob (technical term right there!) :)

I like the iClear30s that come with the SVD.
Plenty of vapour, full of flavour.
The rotating nozzle makes it a more comfortable experience too

I agree with Bandini on this, the iClear30`s give a good vape on the SVD, I have three of them filled with different liquids at any one time. In saying that though I purchased a used Smokteck RDA the other week and it goes like Casey Jones`s Cannonball express imho. Another vote for batteries from Torchy also, the only thing I would query is buying the SVD from FT, for another £13 you could get it from MyEpack with guaranteed next day delivery, also with peace of mind that you will get top notch support from them.

Absolutely top advice this. MyEpack are proving to be a great company to deal with, I've had 3 orders with them and provided you order in the morning the goods seem to arrive the next day. My fasttech days are over, I just can't cope with the wait:D
