Just wanted to show you guys what I did to my VTR, tried to sand down the protective ring so I could keep the original look but I got impatient and chopped them off. Perfect.

Yes a lot of people are doing that now but I am happy keeping my stuff as original as possible.
But if it works for you

I know I really didn't want to touch it but I wasn't using it at all because of the adapter. It's my baby so I'm glad I'm making good use of it again.

I read on another forum about this, I think the guy used a dremel.

I used a dremel it took me around 15 minutes and then I polished it doesn't look too bad.
