I've been using two kylin mini's as my main vape tanks for what seems like forever.
I run them with a six wrap 3.5mm id 26*3 38g wrap Ss316 fused clapton coils made from this wire.

https://www.fasttech.com/p/9643209

While I'm very happy with both of them i dont like bubble tanks and the capacity being around 3ml is a negative as they're frequent fillers.

I recently discovered that the unbreakable bubble tank from the Tauren One and Tauren Beest fit the Kylin Mini perfectly if you remove the top O ring and they still remain perfectly juice tight.
These bubbles are not as in your face as most so I've bern putting up with them.

The wire above i settled on after many many different combinations of wires and materials so 36g cores X3 and 38g wrap fits perfect for me with a single coil usually reading 0.18ohms.

The wire above has been discontinued and not only can i find any remaining stock anywhere i can't even find a different brand with the same wire type, guage, and wrap configuration so if anyone knows I'd appreciate your help.
I'm currently settling on this instead as it's as close as i can get.

The Kylin Mini can still be found in stock atm and i know mine aren't going to last forever and as I've been stuck in my ways for so long I thought sod it I'll change things up.

I've had my fair share of duel coil rtas and I loved the original Kylin but its a duel coil and all the other single coilers out there just dont really float my boat.

I really should have picked up a V2 when they came out but again it's a duel coiler and I've been a single coiler for so long i side stepped it.

I saw @harumph had one listed ages ago in the classifieds for peanuts (very generous ape btw and thank you) with spare deck and several spare glasses and looked at it a few times before thinking its only a few quid why not see how it is.
He said it leaks and thats why it has a spare deck as he recieved a replacement but the replacement leaked too hence the sale.

Well after unscrewing the slide top doh! and realising id just trashed it from the get go i thought I'd pick up an original and a clone for the spare parts to make good the top bit I'd just trashed.

They came this week and tbh it's defeated me.
I've been tearing my hair out cos i can't consistently build it so it doesnt leak.
I mean worse than V1 leak not just after refilling leaking i mean all the time leak.
Noah would be at home hanging round these things they flood for no apparent reason and there's no stopping it leaking.
@harumph was right they're shit!

Or are they?

Seeing as I'm aiming to replace the Mini which is a single coil part of the reason i wanted to try it was to test it as a single coil tank.

The deck looks right, air from all angles like the mini.
The capacity should be a little better as it's around 10% bigger.
Ah but what about the leaking.

The wick channels are shaped in a way that they naturally want to draw the wick from the centre of the deck.
Any other angle and the wicks touch the deck which is unavoidable and it leaks.
Even if you reduce the coil diameter to 3mm or even 2mm and centralise them as much as possible the angle of the channels and position of the coils still push the wicks against the sides and base of the deck and this is the reason it pisses juce everywhere.

So I've stuffed a seven wrap 36* tricore 36ģ outer wrap 3.5mm id SS fused clapton in there which reads 0.22ohms.
I've wicked it tight in the coil with fluffing but no thinning.

Wow!

You would think using ir as a single coiler was VandyVape's intention all along.
It's a completely different animal and even more flavour than i thought possible.
To top it off it's completely and i mean completely leak free.
Dry as abone no seeping at all.
Very good is a wild understatement and a really modest Interpretation of how good this thing is like this.

To compare the Mini imo is up there at the top of the list of single coil rtas for flavour and clouds with the Manta probably the best duel coil rta for flavour but honestly this V2 set up like this is like a combination of the two.

I'm honestly well and truly gob smacked!
its gone from something that should technically be on its way to land fill by now to something so good i didn't think it was possible.

I'm glad you figured something out that worked for you, you deserve a medal! I'm also, not happy that you shared my issues but feel like I'm not so crazy or terrible that I had such a nightmare with it in dual coil. At least now you have enough parts and glasses to keep it going for years! It is very very tasty and a couple times I thought maybe I got unlucky twice in a row and worth a third shot before my conscience told me no, you'll explode if it doesn't work out! So it's interesting to hear out of 3 decks, all of them leaked in dual coil.

You have absolutely nothing to worry about.
On paper the V2 is far far worse for leaking than the V1 ever was and honestly I'd be surprised to find anyone that has retained one they bought because of its leaking.
I took the new black one out the box checked it was all tight and swapped the bubble out for a straight glass and with the reduced capacity i thought it would help with any vaccum issues but it leaked from the get go.
I messed around with several builds trying to make sure the wick was touching nothing but resting in the juice wells.
The last build i put in it was a simple twin 7 wraps of 26g ss316 which came out at 0.12ohms and thought 70w mmmmm thats okay.
Cranked it up through the 80s to 90w okay a bit warm so dropped it back again to 75w and seemed fine.
Put it down for ten minutes and when i picked it back up i felt the suction of the mod pulling loose from a puddle of juice the whole tank dumped.
Cleaned up the mess and thought in the bin it goes but last chance i thought lets get a single in there.

It wasn't till i put the single coil in there that i realised where it was all going wrong.

Either go to 36ga wrap or 28ga cores.

Hi Instructor.
TBH I've been back on my 2x Kylin Minis since writing this and resigned the V2's to the drawer.
I did end up getting minor leakage/seepage between the deck and mod but i can live with that but If any of the cotton is touching anything other than the juice well it will flood.
I've not bothered with the blotto cos I'm more into single coil dtl rtas and will go back to the v2's when my minis give up the ghost.

I watched this is morning @Instructor , I'd give it a go myself if I had two of the wrench's

I do like the Kylins but I can leave them wicked & full for a week with no leaks, as soon as I use them for a few hours, there's a pool under the tank so when I'm finished now, I put them on an atty stand. Bit crap but it's a work around

If I get can my hands on the wrench's I'll give it a go on my Ammit 25, again, a great tank but it's retired in a box because of the same problem

cheers bud, yeah i only just started using my mini again last night, very pleasently supprised actually, you reckon single coils are better for flavour then?

Can be.
I get the vape i want from a singe coil so no need to go overboard with a duel.
I do have three duels, Tauren, Manta, and obvs the V2 but much prefer the vape and flavour from the Kylin Mini.
I run them at 3.8v or around 80w with a 3.5mm ss316 fused clapton 26-28g x3 cores and a 38g or 40g wrap around 0.18-0.20ohms.
I did a build thread on it posted here somewhere.
