Hi, new to vaping, just made the switch from cigarettes! I've been vaping on my Innokin Endura T20s for about 3 days but unsure if the coil is burnt lol? It's a sub ohm coil, I vape a tobacco flavour so hard to tell if its burnt or not, it does taste slightly burnt but being a tobacco flavour it hasn't got a very distinguishable taste like say, watermelon where it would be obvious, I decided to change coil anyway but looking in the holes on the side of the coil the wick still looks white? Wouldnt it be black if it was burnt? I uploaded a pic of the coil I took out. Any help appreciated

Hi @Dean Jaundrill and welcome to the planet.

which ohm coil is that and what ratio of vg/pg are you using. ive not used these coils but i do have some other make that after 2-3 days are still almost white cotton around the coil but down the top its thick black.
most coils should last a good week to two but it depends how deep a inhale you take and for how long.
hopefully someone that uses this kit will be along to advise.

Hi and welcome,

in addition to the above..

a common newbie error is to fire the vape kit prematurely before juice has had the chance to soak the wick fully which can mar the flavour from then on..

its a good habit to prime coils when fitting with a few drops of juice to help avoid this..

As said above, prime your coils with eliquid before you install it. Then fill and leave for 10 mins so the juice can be fully absorbed in the wick.
Hi and welcome btw.

Hi and thank you.

I usually just fill and let it sit for 10-20 mins before vaping, does it need primed too?

Thanks for your reply.
Its 0.8 ohm coils and a 70/30 pg/vg

priming is always best. drip juice on all the holes around the coil and a few drops down the top then fill. a few prime hits without pressing the fire button then small short puffs to start with to prime the coil.
0.8 and 70vg should be fine.
there are a lot of fake or clone coils out there and as long as bought from a reputable dealer these should last longer than a few days.

Brilliant thank you. Its 70 pg not vg so abit thinner, should still be ok to prime like that? Might sound a daft question but will a burnt coil be dead obvious taste wise?

For future reference, if u accidentally burn it from it being dry, or whatever reason, the part that would appear black would be on the inside where the coil touches the cotton, not the outside

Edit: unless its burned all the way thru of course, but you would really taste that, ive done it, it tastes like smoke not vape
