Hi all. I've been vaping for a week now! Gone from 20 a day to nothing.

Hooray!

Anyway, I'm a little confused with the technology and the people in my local shop aren't the most helpful. All they want to sell me is a lanyard. I don't want a lanyard!

So at present I'm using a standard ego battery and a itaste top part. I think it's called a cartomiser.

So, what exactly are the benefits of variable voltage batteries and pro tanks? I can't find anything on the Internet which tells me why I should buy one, can anyone help?

With variable voltage you can put more or less power from the battery in to the coil of the tank which in turn gives you control over how it will vape the juice. This means the juice will produce more or less flavour and vapor. You can then adjust the vape to your own tastes.

Thanks, that's really helpful. Will it provide more of a throat hit or is that just decided by the juice?

do you have a recommendation for a good vv battery?

higher volts = more vapor and flavour, to high it will taste burn
lower volts = less vapor and not as much flavour.
this means you can find the voltage that suits you as some people like loads of flavour and vapor, but some dont want to blow clouds of vapor and like their flavour more subtle.

you will get more throat hit but that can also be down to other factors such as juice. I use @MrKraken for juices as they take some beating.... try squid ink.

for a vv device it all comes down to your budget

Edit ..... Its worth taking some time to read about juices and devices before jumping in and buying something.

Best advice i was given was buy the best tanks, devices you can afford as you will start upgrading kit faster then you think once you move from ego to vv battery. Speak to people on here and get some advice, every one is friendly and willing to help. Welcome to potv :welcome1:

Im from bristol and know of a few vape shops but to be fair i have not used them due to the prices, im sure they are helpful people and all but i stick with the vendors i have used from here as the service and advice is second to none and they have shown me time after time its not just about taking your cash..... they make sure you get the right advice and service first.

depending on budget for a starter first VV/VW device the innokin range normally fits the bill, either the box shaped MVP or the pen shaped Itaste VV
the MVP can be got for about £35 the itaste VV for about £30.
the MVP gives more flexibility , has longer battery life , and looks pretty smart.
can find them both here

( MVP 2 comes in choice of several colour styles )
