Hi all,
Just recieved all my stuff from darrant chemicals and am wondering what the best way to look after my stuff is. Im aware that i should freeze the nic etc.

Can you freeze the vg and pg also? If so, is it beneficial? And also whats the best way to keep them good?

I also figured freezing stuff and having to defrost them would increase the water content inside the bottle? Like if you freeze soda pop and it tastes watery?
Thanks in advance

How much of it did you buy and how long do you expect it to last you?
Freezing is a long-term storage option only, by long-term I mean years. In a household freezer, neither VG nor PG will freeze to a solid state, they just become more gloopy/viscous. If the container is sealed, where would the water come from?
PG and VG will keep for a year at room temperature if kept away from direct sunlight ... a cool, dark place is usually advised. Any more than a few months' of stock is worth keeping in a fridge, no need to freeze it.

There is no restriction on the supply of VG and PG so don't bother buying them in bulk, just buy enough for the next few months or so. VG is particular is best used as fresh as possible.

Thanks for the advice mate. Ive just got a litre each of vg/pg and 100ml of 72mg nic. I vape 1.5mg so ith should last a while. Ill not bother freezing it as it was just a sort of 'starting up' amount to see how it goes.
I hear horror stories about bacteria in vg etc. How do i protect against this?
Thanks, John

I was looking this up yesturday and got told to freeze nicotine as orded 1liter of i an putting in 50ml amber bottles and will put in fridge when need them hope thus helps

Where did you hear this? According to our resident scientific genius @danb, both PG and VG impart such high osmotic pressure on bacteria that it would rip out their very nuclei before they had time to take their hats off.

A guy that worked in a vapourized mate. Was news to me but i wasnt sure so i just assumed he knew his stuff

Even without Einstein Dan's input, I'm pretty confident Mr Vapourized is talking nonsense. We expose e-juice to the air all the time. If it allowed bacteria to live and breed in it, we'd all have permanent chest infections. As far as I'm aware, PG and VG are well known to have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. I wouldn't worry about it.

Just to add, Even if you managed to get any bacteria in your juice somehow,i would imagine the heat of the coil vaporising the juice would be sufficient enough to kill it off

My understanding is that PG and VG both forms of glycerol do not feed bacteria so ...
