Sorry, I was busy banging a needle full of heroin in to help me through the evening, I am sure I didnt do it when I smoked - must be the e-liquids

Even the activities that are accepted as "gateway" activities cannot be proven so - the fact that a heroin addict may have smoked tobacco and then cannabis previously doesn't mean they wouldn't have tried heroin if the other 2 were unavailable (in fact, perhaps the less dangerous behaviours actually filter out some at each level who would otherwise seek pleasure or escape with more risky behaviour). No-one can possibly prove that illegal drug use would reduce if nicotine wasn't available, and common sense suggests it wouldn't.

Besides, the effects of nicotine are nothing like those of other drugs, and there's nothing to suggest that relaxing with a fag or e-cig with your coffee is going to make you more likely to want to get off your face.

I've met more non-smokers who will smoke a joint (with tobacco) simply to get stoned than I have smokers who moved to cannabis.

Damn, I knew I shouldnt've started vaping, I am now on to Cocaine and Heroin...

God dammit, it was only a matter of time.

I should also mention I only starting smoking years ago after I smoked a spliff, now done smoking weed, but Im still on the nicotine

I started smoking at about 12 years old.
30 years later I am still smoking (now vaping). I really do believe that if I was going to progress onto heroin or crack etc, I would have done so by now.
I've never touched a street drug in my life (apart from a couple of joints as an experimental teen).
