Personally I prefer cotton wool, there's no secondary background taste to it. I wind 8 turns .32 kanthal round a 2mm Allen key which gives me a 1.5Ω coil and thread wool through that. Whatever you try, your not going to be happy with it unless you try them all and decide for yourself. If you buy just wool you'll always be wondering if silica or ekowool has greener grass.

Voodoowool all the way for me, I haven't used anything else in quite a while now. It's long lasting stuff, my last coil build had the same piece of voodoowool in it for 5 weeks and 6 days lol, and its so easy to work with.

Just remember tho that the dimensions of voodoowool are internal dimensions. :)

What Tony says
And depends on device
Dry hit on a full kayfun with cotton is no fun
Voodoo cuts cleaner but threading thru micro coils is a bugger
Ekowool at 2mm doubles over nice and you can use a piece of kanthal as a threader giving you a nice double wick on a 3 mm micro wrapped on a drill it or screwdriver
I use a thin jewellers driver next to the wick if I am winding a coil directly on a wick
Remember to check resistance before firing specially on a mech mod
Have fun

so if i wanted to try voodoowool what size would you recommend? as in mm thanks for all the answers :D

Voodoowool is awesome, far better and less fray-y than ekowool, better taste too, in my opinion, and I would recommend getting the smallest size you can to start, though I have some 4mm which is big as a house, but works fab.
Cotton wool in a microcoil all the way for me in a kayfun nowadays.
I cater to the whims of my devices though, so in my zenith, I usually use 2.5mm voodoowool with flat kanthal wire, and in my spheroid, a classic doubled over 2mm silica wick, with four wraps of .20 kanthal is all I need.

I am the same as MT different setups for different atties. For example I tried 2mm Voodoowool in my fatty dripper but found I got dry hits so I took the Voodoowool out of the microcoil and replaced it with cotton wool no dry hits same coil same setup just different wicks. But when I use 4mm voodoowool with 3 to 4 wraps of kenthal its a different story and this setup works like a dream. In my ebaron dripper is use 2mm silica doubled up, in my A7 oid I use voodoowool and lastly in the Kayfun its cotton wool and micro coils. The list goes on but you get the idea

So as always its tinker experiment and see what works for you the main thing is not to be blinkered and only use one solution for all scenarios you will be disappointed.

If you have a dripper with a decent sized deck then the 4mm voodoo wool is just awesome stuff. Holds loads of juice and wicks really well. A bit trickier top use it in smaller drippers or RBA's though

the only tanks i have right now is aerotank and iclear 30 :) im thinking voodoowool or cotton :) for aerotank
