The folks at @Sourcemore kindly sent me this to review.
It’s available at the time of this review at https://www.sourcemore.com/voopoo-argus-a-kit.html
What’s in the box
Available in 8 colours, I received the phantom red one which graduates to orange on the front.
The stand out feature here is the large dual zone screen so if you’re into a multi-colour screen with lots of information, animations and like to monitor your usage you’ll love it, you can also turn it off. It fades out after a brief period of inactivity and isn’t really readable outdoors. It’s a pocket friendly box style kit so is stable upright, pretty light, comfy in the hand and feels well made and finished. The airflow slide adjuster is on the opposite side to the fire button, the on/off switch and the charging port, the only branding is a large ARGUS on the back with a shaded A pattern.
The images below give a better idea of the screen displays than trying to describe them but due to sizing issues on here I couldn't load all of them so gave up.
In ECO and SUPER mode the lower screen displays an animation instead of watts, when you take a draw a moving animation and puff duration is displayed in all modes.
The pods have a small amount of wobble front to back but are held securely by magnets, when you put one in the screen briefly displays the ohms and a best wattage range. The battery capacity is relatively low so if vaping at high wattages with the screen on it won’t last too long though it charges quickly (full charge ≈ 35mins) with pass through. When charging it displays a useful estimated charging time and a battery % animation, less useful is it goes off before it has recharged so you have to wake it up to check. The manual covers the basic operation:-
Filing & Vaping
Filling requires removing the pod and is straightforward via the rubber plug which can be pulled to the side out of the way, the juice level is clearly visible. The mouthpiece is comfy, draw and button activation work well and the airflow slider remains in place, it has a wide slot and a single small hole. When fully open only all of the wide slot is, when fully closed only the single hole is so you can get an airy to a tight draw. The position of the fire button suits finger firing in either hand but with the airflow directly opposite it’s a bit awkward to avoid covering it, it would be better if the airflow was on the back. The preset wattage modes, SUPER and ECO make a difference in vapour production, juice consumption, warmth and flavour, the wattages used aren’t specified. I vaped a 50/50 NET in the 0.7ohm pod using both preset modes but 10w in POWER mode suited me best, it produces very decent flavour with a smooth mtl draw and using it every day over 5 days I had no leaking or condensation.
Final Thoughts
The dual-zone screen is the main feature but most importantly it delivers a very decent flavour and draw, feels well made, is easy to use, a good price plus you can also use replaceable coils which is always good to see. It has a few niggles; it’s a bit awkward to avoid covering the air flow if button firing, battery capacity is relatively low and the new pods only come in 2 resistances.

What’s in the box
- Button and draw activation, adjustable airflow slider, weight 111 grams, lanyard.
- Vaping modes – SUPER, ECO and POWER (variable wattage), the usual safety features.
- Dual-zone screen displaying vaping/usage information and animations.
- The included fixed mesh coils are new, 0.4ohm (18-30w) and 0.7ohm (14-18w), the ohms are marked on the fill plugs, while described as top fill they’re side fill.
- Voopoo claim a 3x upgrade for the new coils in terms of leak proof (up to 30 days), flavour and coil life (90ml).
- Compatible with all Argus pods so you also have the option of the older 1.2ohm pod and the pod for replaceable ITO coils (0.5, 0.7, 1 and 1.2ohm).

- On/off switch.
- 2 clicks turns the screen off/on.
- 5 clicks brings up the menu, toggle through with a single press, a long press selects one:-
- MODE – to select POWER, ECO or SUPER
- PUFF CLEAR - resets the puff counter displayed on the screen not the usage record
- EXIT – superfluous, it will do that after a few seconds regardless.
- USAGE RECORD
- LOCK - locks/unlocks fire button activation but not wattage adjustment
- 3 clicks in POWER mode adjusts the wattage, press the button to increase by 1 watt or hold to scroll, it’ll round robin when it hits the maximum wattage permitted for the coil.
