Weird one...

little help,.. new rda.. came with some 0.3 coils so I chucked one in and tested it on my mod to see the resistance, when I tighten the screws (pretty tight) it reads 0.178/0.186 around those marks. When I loosen the screws just a tad it ups straight away to like 0.270. Any reason for this? I need to know because this rda I’m going to be using on a mech and there’s a big difference between 0.178 and 0.270 haha..

What RDA is it @Lewisvapes ? I'd start off by completely dismantling the RDA and giving it a good clean with a soapy toothbrush and dry it thoroughly. Put it back together and trying again making sure everything is locked down tight.

It’s the coil art dpro rda. I just got in contact with the shop I bought it from and they said having a low build like 0.17 on a 18650 isn’t really a problem because of the safe pulse discharge

UPDATE.... I just took it for a dry burn and it’s now reading .0327 so that’s must of been the quick fix

Really? Looking at steam calc thats pulling about 24amp on a fresh battery, that is above the rating for even a 25r. I am sure there are lots of peeps who build this low on a mech but personally I wouldnt put sumit like that near my face....On a regulated Mod ok but on a mech....hmmm..not for me

Is there a reason why you're loosening the screws? I'm asking because I've never heard of it and I have mine as tight as possible.

I would the assume the tighter they are, the better the conductivity.

Do you know what the resistance of your coils should be?

Aye keep your screws as tight as possible. My next guess was they are ni80 coils which can read low before a dry burn.
