So the thing that keeps rearing its ugly head at me is this then...

I'm vaping some tasty liquids which are good quality & i love the flavours. Using a nemesis mod & with an evod clearo on top all is not bad. I keep my tanks pretty clean enough i think & try to keep one flavour per tank but if i want to change flavours i wash it all (Disassembled) & make sure everything is dry before filling again. I give the coil a sensible dry burn but not too much.

Now i have bought a kanger pro tank 2 thinking it would be a nice next step, i have a pro tank 2 mini already & it performs much like the evod,s so...
So far though the pro tank 2 is producing a good vaper but the flavour is just not coming through. I'm using the atomizer heads which came with it in it's sealed box, a 2.2ohm & a 2.5ohm. Those resistances work fine with the evod tanks & the pro tank 2 mini. I've been through a process of elimination with the whole taste thing & for a couple of days i thought it was my taste buds. I vaped some menthol followed by a day on a cherry liquid & then back on my fave' coffee which was then fine again for a day... Now though i can't get that flavour again, good vaper but not much taste.

I have now ordered some 1.8ohm atomizer heads to see what happens there. Obviously i'm still finding my way with this & have not yet found a solid foundation to work from.
What concerns me is the safety side of things, will the 1.8ohm attys pose a hazzard ? Should i get a higher resistance atty instead ? My batteries in the mod are Torchy 18500 ,1600mah, 3.7v. They're new & so far have charged well & read 4.19-4.2v when newly charged & i'm charging them again when they get to approx 3.5v. I'm happy that the batteries are performing normally.
A bit confusing for a beginner because the attys & the clearo's are matched by the manufacturer & so makes me think that it's me doing something wrong. Basically the flavour is ok for a while & then gone again. Anyone else have issues with the pro tank 2 ?

Cheers all, just trying to put the pieces together.:hmm:

Obviously, this is going to depend on your preferences, but for an unregulated device (i.e. your Nemesis and regular batteries) I would find 2.2 and 2.5 ohms much too high. 1.8 would certainly suit me better is plenty safe considering the batteries you have, and may well give you the flavour you were expecting. It also could be the reason it tastes fine but then diminishes - your battery will drop from a full 4.2 to about 4 pretty quickly, and will spend the majority of its charge around 3.9-3.6, so that loss of flavour could be affected by the lower power.

Personally I like to build my coils between 1 and 1.5 ohms - vapes well and it's reasonably safe because I'm well aware of my numbers and limits on the batteries. But of course - everyone has their own tastes!

Hi @vaporsizer some sound words of advise from @RZ7 Personaly I would look at getting a rebuildable tank and give it a spin to compare. You seem pretty clued up as you have gone over to a mech and are keeping an eye on your batteries. Of all the tanks and atties I own, there is one that is sat collecting dust after being used once, yup the PT2. I recoiled the evod clearos loads of times when I first started out and had no problems, so it was not as if I had no idea what I was doing, make of this as you wish as a lot of people swear by the PT2, not for me I`m afraid.

+1 I use evods daily and swear by them as i find them very reliable. When i got my pt2 i was not overly impressed and tried all sorts to get the best from it. In the end i gave up and never use it! Many love them but i think it was a waste of time and it now sits in my vape box. Im gonna try the aspire tanks as people are saying they are the pt2 killer, tried a friends and for me they look better and vape much better.

Thanks you guys, really handy advise from my position. It's reassuring about the coil resistance. You could be right too about the PT2, it's the first tank i bought so far which i begrudge putting liquid in for fear of wasting it. Sweet advise peeps, gratitude all round !
:2thumbsup:

I find the mini protanks 2 vape really well with good flavour, haven't tried the protanks yet, but find the t3s's are tasting not good, i heard you supposed to wash them out first time before you use as there's some manufacturer's gunk on coils, but i never bothered...fuck it not enough free time!!!!!!!!!

I just wish i could find a tank which vapes 100% vg without tasting bad and getting blocked up!!!!

My aspire davide bdc has been faultless with vg(and any others) might be worth a try?
