whats the best battery for my kangertech protank ????????????

When you are talking battery, do you mean eGo type?? Also what resistance is your protank heads?? :)

looking for a decent battery to use with my protank any ideas?

It depends what you're looking for ie something to perform better or something to look good, and what price bracket?

On the cheap... If you want better performance try lower resistance heads on your Protank from the 2.5 ohm ones you're using. Try something like 1.8 ohm heads and be astounded by the difference it makes. Making your own heads is fairly simple and will only cost you maybe a tenner for a years worth of wick and wire for rebuilds, plus another fiver for a multi meter for checking resistance to make sure you don't blow your current battery up.

Or get a Vision Spinner or an eGo Twist, around £20-25 each. These are reasonably cheap variable voltage batteries and look similar to what you've got at the mo. With these you can "crank up" your vape to suit your taste, but obviously your Protank will still look top heavy on it.

if you want bigger but still fairly cheap how about a Vamo kit for about £30 and a 2 week wait til it comes from fasttech.com? If you're going this way make sure you get the one with the Nitecore charger. Vamo's have a built-in menu for checking the resistance of your heads, and can also be used in Variable Wattage mode. This will look better with your Protank cos it's about the same width, but it's a big heavy mutha for carrying out n about. 86.4% of serious vapers have at least one Vamo.

There are plenty more VV mods out there but I'm not qualified to recommend them or not as I've not tried any of them. Most of them are around the same width as your Protank. Generally speaking they all do similar VV functions and it comes down to what you like the look of. The other one I have is a Provari (around £200 new, without batteries or charger) and it's far far far better quality than a Vamo but pretty much does the same job without the VW function. I would recommend one if money isn't really objective for you. They fit good in your hand, battery cut out doesn't cut in as early as a Vamo, blah blah blah various minor good points etc.

Then there's mechanical mods, wait til someone with more knowledge comes on to explain a bit about them. I believe the lure with them is that there's no safety cut out so you can use lower ohm heads again.

Hope this helps.

ps 100% of statistics on this forum post are made up on the spot.

A protank looks fine on an ego as it comes with the plinth, or even the protank mini, also look at eVODS, but totally agree on a standard eGo, I use recoiled wicks at 1.2-1.5 ohms. The difference is night and day over 2.5 ohm stock heads :)

a protank on an ego is just like how i like my women , bottom heavy.

if you look on p-vaper you can get an ego twist for like a tenner

as you already have the charger theres no need for the kit , just buy the standalone battery :)
i bougt one for the wife to try some 0nic juice and naturally had to try it myself and its a smashing little battery , i got the red one and it looks pretty swish too.

yeh im currently using an ego 1100 mah, the coils i use are 2.5 ohms,

So if your eGo is a fixed voltage battery then you're vaping at about 6Watts which is a little underpowered. Most people wind up prefering a vape at around 8Watts power, though some people prefer higher power settings and some people prefer lower power than that.

What's your budget?

If cost is the single biggest factor then buy a Vamo from somehwere like FastTech. you'll wait anywhere up to a month for delivery (usually around 2 weeks) and their customer service is 'hit and miss' but you won't get a cheaper deal anywhere. If you value being able to pick up the phone and talk to someone that knows what they are talking about and you want an item in your hands the next day, then get a Vamo from a UK vendor. Any of the vendors on POTV are likely to be decent ones. If you live close enough to a vape shop then go visit one and ask to try out some stuff (if they say no - then walk away the shops a bad one)

The best way forwards is to get yourself a cheap regulated device that has variable voltage/variable wattage on it and play around with different power settings to see what style of vape you like the best. There are a bunch of similarly priced regulated 'batteries' out there a Zmax a SID an SVD or a Vamo all do the same thing with different styling, all are around £40-£50 from a UK vendor. A protank will sit nicely on top of any of them and will give you a decent vape no matter what ohm coil you have in them (though I'd recommend using no higher than 2ohm coils 2.5ohm is a little high) If you buy a kit with batteries and a charger then make sure you get a good charger right off the bat. The Trustfire charger is decent but I wouldn't get anything cheaper than that, the XTar or NiteCore chargers are better still.

£50 is approximately 7 packets of 20 fags, or 7 pouches of rolling baccy if you've quit smoking and moved to vaping then YAY! welldone, it's worth bearing in mind how the costs of vaping compare to smoking when working out how much you want to spend on things. Once you get past the initial outlay for things then running costs are a lot lower, even if you buy replacement heads off the shelf and premixed e-liquid.

At the end of the day if you plan on keeping vaping for a while you will want to have a backup device (or two) so buying a cheapish regulated device isn't a waste of money as even if you move onto some other device later on it'll be handy to have something like a Vamo around for testing coil resistances, having a different flavour ready to go at home, having another device if your main one breaks for any reason etc. The main advantage of devices where you insert batteries is that eventually batteries wear out and if your eGo battery wears out you need a whole new eGo, if the 18650 in your mod wears out you can just replace it pretty cheaply.

So bottom line, get yourself a Vamo, a Zmax, a SID or an SVD to go with your ProTank, and play about with power settings. It'll cost you £50 or so upfront, but the difference in quality of vape will be well worth it.

wow, i did not realise how many different types of battery were available! thank you for your help, think i am going to start with a ego c twist and see how i go from there.

thank you everyone
