Hi guys this may sound stupid but what is the difference between regulated mods and non regulated mods??

One is regulated and one is not :) joke. The regulated ones you can change the wattage or voltage and most have a safety on them so wont let you fire if too low ohms etc. I think non regulated mods rely on the power of your battery and the build to give you the best outcome but i dont think they have a safety mode. Like if your battery is 4.2v and gives a 22 amp discharge you have to work out what build (ohms) you are safe to use. Im not completely clued up but thats how its been explained to me, im sure someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly :)

Ok thank you think I'll stick to regulated one to be on the safe side as I'm not to knowledgeable on all this as I'm just starting out on a dripper

Regulated mods contain electronics and circuitry, stuff like battery overcharge protection, timeout's to stop you firing the mod for too long, little LCD displays to show you information about your resistance and your wattage, safety measures to stop you firing on a coil that is too low resistance, or has a short circuit somewhere in your build, some (like my kbox 70) contain built in batteries so you don't have to worry too much about whether you've got the right batteries. You can just lean on the mod to do the right thing.

An unregulated mod, is a tube with a battery in it, a switch and a 510 connector for your atomiser - when it comes to making sure you don't have a short, and that your build is correct and safe for the particular battery you have, you need to be a lot more careful and considered.

In case it isn't obvious - I'm not brave enough for an unregulated mech mod ;) I like the safety that the more complex devices give. I can't say how the vape differs though because I have only used regulated mods. I know that some people swear by mech mods...

Probably worth saying that even regulated mods are only as good as what's in them, so it's worth buying a good quality device from a known brand and vendor.

Nice one guys I'll stick to a regulated mod there are so many I'm goin to get the twisted messes dripper any sergestions on the mod I should get don't want to spend loads but would like a mod what will go 100w??

You can get an Ipv 4 for £40 off DNA Vapes, that'll do you for the TM.

As long as you have a scoobie or two about what you're doing, mechs are fan-frakkin'-tastic. Just a metal tube with a wee swtich, but ooh momma, so much happy.
Aye, know your ohms law, know how to make a good build that'll no take yir battery to its amp limit, appreciate the joys of Nichrome and being prepared to have at least one or two evenings a week stripping the damned things down to swab them out to keep 'em all shipshape.
It's a simpler and yet more complex vape experience. The way the vape changes as the battery runs down is fun and having to be a lot more engaged with your kit is quite pleasant.
I can't see me going back to regulated this year! Caveat - unless I get tempted by the Theorem tank!! :54:
