Screwed up the button on my 4nine, just wondering where in the UK I can buy a 4nine button from?

Any help? thanks

Shmovapes are an authorised seller for 4Nines in the UK, have you tried them?

stryker is it a clone?

Apologies just noticed you said UK, I was going to suggest FT ticket asking to buy a button, they wont sell you parts but they might send one for free, they sent me some spares sometime ago for a 91%

Cheers, I'll try shamovapes.

How did I bugger it up? Well, embarrassing really. The button was not working in the first place, somehow the magnet at the centre of the button was totally insulated from the copper surround... no idea how but my multimeter does not lie and it explains why it was so damn hard to make fire as its the magnet at the center which contacts the magnet that sits on the bottom of the battery.

I proved the concept by dropping a piece of foil over the button to bridge the charge between the central magnet in it and the copper surround, it worked rather well so proved the point.

However I could not leave it alone, besides I was not happy about having a small bit of foil in there so I tried applying some solder to the magnet to bridge it to the copper surround.... a sound plan if I must say so myself..... slight snag, it all but ruined the magnet in the button so it no longer pushes the battery away.... hence button ruined as there is no way I could remove the little magnet from the copper button that I know of.

Also to the other question, it is a clone

The delrin screws onto the magnet ? Oh well live and learn as they say

delrin? I mean the magnet in the button, the magnet with the delrin surround appears fine.

That magnet in the button appears to be pressed into a recess in the button, I'd suspect its not ever coming back out.... though now you've got me thinking, may take a closer look.

FIXED and this is how for anyone interested

I used a small 1.5mm screw-driver and hammer to gently knock the magnet out of the switch using the hole in the base of the switch.

The recess for the magnet in the switch was pretty dirty, of course it was, its all blacked from arcing, owing to the low voltage high amps nature of mech mods!

Cleaned it up, pressed in a new magnet, now works and hits like a champ.

there's some many shit versions of the 4nine floating about that I cant give you specific information, BUT, in a perfect world ( and a correct 4nine)the magnets would not be part of the electrical path. the little disc/copper/delrin combo..the magnet should not sit proud on that,, and neither on the switch, so the magnets repel each other, but contact goes from switch--->floating magnet outer metal holder (sometimes it is copper) to battery.

THere's versions around where this isnt possible, and some you can fiddle, but that is what you should be aiming for.
