Where to go next?

Hey all, I'm just looking for a few suggestions on where to go next. I'm not new to vaping, I've experienced small pens to starter kits to cloud machines. Tanks are not for me, drippers are a great hobby but not practical most of the time. I'm loving squonking at the minute but I've come to a dead end.

My daily driver at the minute is the Geekvape Gbox 200W (not the S100) with a Pulse 24 dripper but the 510 connector pin has already come use after a couple of months use. It's the taste of a dripper with the convenience of a tank, I've not tried RTAs or RDTAs yet but don't think I intend to either.

I've been looking at new squonk mods to get and I've got my eye on the Athena or Pulse squonk kits. I know my battery safety and a bit about ohms law but I'm too paranoid to get a mechanical mod. I'm counting down the days for the Pulse 80w to come available for pre-order but at the same time I'm tempted to get a mechanical mod.

Like I said, I know about battery safety and all but I'm a paranoid person and constantly worrying about the dangers. Any tips or suggestions? I've heard many mixed reviews about the Pulse, Athena, iJoy Capo and a few others but to be fair the Gbox had bad reviews and is great apart from the connector issue which I'm not even going to try and fix myself.

Cheers!

How about the new luxotic mod, has some protection built in so not a full mech but hits really well and for the price seems really well made. Only had one about a week so time will tell on the build quality but it feels really well made.

Check out the Boxer Squeezer. I have 2 and better than the Pulse and Athena imo. Can pick them up for £24

Why not fix the gbox issue. It's an easy fix.
Undo the 4 screws holding the back cover on and tighten the nut up. Make sure you don't have the batteries in.

I thought it was a lot harder than that. I'll take a look at it tomorrow. Is it just a case of Allen keys or something more? And how often do these pins loosen up?

Thanks for the advice

If you fancy trying an inexpensive and safe mech squonk to dip your toes, then I'd heartily recommend the Athena. For me it's uncomplicated, and all the components are visible, and easily accessible for cleaning. External effective safety lock, so no popping the lid to lock it. Very small, and pretty light for a metal box. The contacts are coated, and a quick wipe get rid of any stains, with good conductivity comparable with some higher end gear I have. The bottles are adequate and functional, and far better than some of the budget offerings out there.

I think the only thing I didn't like initially, was the angular edges, but it's not a problem now. Feels great in the hand.

I second this. Great little squonk kit.

Vape don't smoke shows you how to do it on YouTube. They don't normally come loose but it can happen @Fidzy
From about 22 minutes in.

I agree with this I love the Pulse box and Athena but the Hugo Squeezer is my absolute favourite budget squonker it is really comfortable to hold, has a great 510 comes with a load of useful extras such as a refilling kit and hits just as hard as an Armageddon mod I paid 5x as much for.

The Hugo Squeezer paired with a Coppervape Narca is the best budget vaping kit I have ever come across!

Pico Squeeze worth a look too!

As for mech's, yes its important to know the basics but as long as you use them with common sense and double check your builds on a regulated mod you will be fine. I hated the idea at first and was scared by all of the horror stories floating around however I find the joy and satisfaction I get from building and operating a mech has far surpassed any of the negatives, the pure simplicity of it is amazing and providing you look after your kit a decent mech like a squeezer or athena could last you a very long time probably far longer than a chip based regulated device so look at it as an investment :D
