Why have more than one mod?

I have a few mods that I use regularly, but I also always have at least 10 that lie in a drawer doing nothing except give me peace of mind. It means I can give them to people who want to get off smoking and come to me for advice and they also calm the panic when my mind starts its "what if vaping is banned" shit.

I probably have over 20 mods and at the beginning of each month I do a rotation so that they all get used at some point, why have I got that many? well just because I like the look of them!! I have stopped buying now well pretty much, I did get a Billet Box for my birthday from hubby and I love it and use it more than any other mod I own, Shinyitus took hold big time but I now have everything I need oh except I have a squonking set up coming from FT just because I have never tried squonking!!

I've found different bits of kit serve different purposes. Ive 11 or so mods, a mix of mechanical and regulated, and 20ish tanks and rdas. I don't really use tanks anymore and if I do its a rebuildable on rare occasions. I probably have 4 go to mods and 5 go to rdas, the rest have been mostly superceded by what I'm using now. I just didn't want to sell anything because I'm a natural collector. Before this it was antique and vintage razors.

Exactly my thinking and practice. Just need to organise my bicycle driven electricity generator ...

As everyone has already said. To keep away from smoking it's essential to back up your back up. I've even got emergency set ups, coils, chargers and liquids in the car and workshop. Also I run a lot of setups at once and I've never suffered with vapers tongue.

The question should be "why have only one mod?". Most people turn to vaping to get off the stinkies. Having one mod serves most people's needs, but what do you do if it lets you down, or you lose it? So two should be the minimum. Other people (I class myself in this bracket), have become hobbyist vapers, and like to try different bits of kit, whether it be attys or mods (and other paraphernalia). There is always something else to try, for me lately it has been DNA mods, so now I have mods I only use in wattage mode and others I use in TC mode.

I always used to have a box of green rizla in the draw too. .... how is this even a question?

There's a difference between needing and wanting.

The first rule of vaping is always have a backup ... the second rule is to have a backup to the back up.
The first thing that a switcher will do in the event of their vape gear failing is buy a packet of fags, this single point of failure explains the first rule.
The second rule is belt and braces - if your main device can break then so can your back up, which in such an event is now your one and only device without a backup. The second rule ensures that you can always adhere to the first rule.

So the real question is, why have more than three? The answers will be diverse because you're moving the issue from "need" to "want".
