Currently I have 2 Ego 1100mah batteries, 4x iClear16's and 1 iClear 30.

I've decided I'm really enjoying it and feeling the benefits of stopping smoking so I've splashed out (ok went a bit mad) sent off for a SVD, Vamo V3 and a bucket load of protanks along with an iGO-L to learn the whole rebuilding stuff.

I watch youtube etc and I see reviews of the iclear 30 and I think to myself I'm not getting anywhere near as much vapor from mine thus the SVD and vamo as I thought maybe it was a case of too much resistance for my battery to cope with. Is it more likely the kit I have isn't heating the liquids I use and therefore not producing the vapor?

I want a real fruity flavour I've tried several from juiceshop (Juicy Pear, Grape Escape, Tutti Fruity, Forest Fruits, Strawberry Burst, Apple and Pina Colada) and flavourart (Mad Fruits and Citrus Mix) from my local shop (Red energy, Apple, Vanilla and RY4)

Most the ones from juiceshop tasted exactly the same hard to describe, kinda powdery. Would that be my kit at fault as the iclears have dual coils and probably require more power than I can supply

Reading the reviews I've sent off for some snake oil eliquid. Any recommendations for a good (make you pucker) tart/citrus liquid. Going to try some Halo Liquids as I really like the sweetness to the RY4.

You're probably right that the ego batteries can't supply enough power, but it may also be the PG/VG ratio of the e-liquid. More VG = more vapour, more PG = more flavour. At least with the mods you've ordered you'll be able to adjust the voltage/wattage.

You may want to try mixing your own e-liquid to get a good tart citrus - a nice mix of citrus flavours plus a bit of malic acid (and possibly a sweetener) should get you what you want. I'm playing around with a blend of various Inawera citrus flavours at the moment - their grapefruit is really good.

If your eGos are fixed voltage then you need to run atomisers at 1.8ohms max (ideally around 1.5ohm) to get the best out of them. If they are variable voltage then they will provide enough power for sure.

iClears come in 1.8 2.2 or 2.5ohm versions - it'll say on the side of the box it came it which it is. A 2.2 or a 2.5 ohm resistance on a 3.7volts battery won't give you lots of vapour (or flavour)

If you have some good mods coming then set them to 7watts+ and you should notice a big difference. Most peoples sweet spot is between 7 and 8 watts power setting.

robteifi I like the sound of your suggestion, mixing my own juices but I'm afraid they would taste rank ...

VaperCaper Ahhhhhhhhhhh your saying pretty much what I was thinking. My batteries aren't VV so they really aren't pumping out enough power for the iclears. None of them came in a box just plastic bag, IIRC I was told they where 2.0 ohm.

VaperCaper Had a look at your site might have to sample a few of those vermillion river liquids :)

Slap a protank or i30 on the SVD, set it to about 8w and you'll notice the difference Snake oil is good stuff youll like that...

Sorry to say neither of them are vv so I was on the right track then my batteries are naff. Robteifi I'd love to mix my own juice however if you've had the misfortune to taste my cooking you'll know they'd turn out pretty rank. Maybe even worse than the roast chicken one Tubbyengineer videoed.

Vapercaper your saying pretty much what I was thinking. Iirc the bloke in the shop said they where 2.0 ohm but he's not to be trusted after all his svd would cost twice as much as both the vamo and svd from where I'm getting them. On my first visit when I asked about a starter set when I asked why it was better I was told "because it lights up and shows battery level" nothing about vv etc. Might have to get some of your juices

Tubbyengineer I hope so. I have a few protanks coming one of which is going to be my test subject for micro coils.

As much as I'm enjoying my current kit I feel unless I can get decent flavour I might give up

Sent from my GT-P5110 using Planet of the Vapes mobile app

I wouldn't say naff. Just specialised. You can get a good vape from them but you need to use low resistance coils, I use a little 3.7v eGo for stealth vaping sometimes and as long as you have the right ohm atomiser on it's all good. Another problem you can run into is that they say 2ohm on them but are actualy 2.x ohm (mass produced stuff sometimes doesn't have the most exact tolerances, and unless you test them on an ohm meter you have no way of knowing the actual resistance, when you get your vamo use it to check the actual resistance and it'll probably turn out to be 2.2ohms+

On my first visit when I asked about a starter set when I asked why it was better I was told "because it lights up and shows battery level"

Neither of those are actually all that useful.

I think you will indeed notice a big difference with better kit - though I'd use the IGO-L to practice micro coils on - the space you have to make coils in a ProTank is pretty small and it's easier to get some practice in on a dripper with more space in it - like an IGO - before tackling a PT head. Hope your kit turns up soon and your vape improves a lot.

I just finished building a Protanks micro-coil,specifically to run on 1 particular set of batteries(that insist on belting out 5+ Volts whereas the other sets only ever max @ 4 Volts)If I can do it @ 3am with my fk'd eyesight, then normal people shouldn't struggle too much.

Well got my vamo ....

WOW !!!! big difference in vapour and throat hit. I noticed a big change in flavour from my red bull/red energy it's become a weak cheap cola taste now got subtle change in the flavourart Citrus Mix brings out an almost sherbet after taste. Will need to revisit some flavours and play around with the settings.

Tubby thanks for the advice about the 8w settings tho found it very harsh to start with was only after watching the PBusardo Vamo review where he showed how to change to RMS settings didn't feel as strong after that.

Eagerly awaiting the snake oil liquid. Tempted to try some of the phluid stuff now.

One of the easiest ways to improve the flavour of your juices actually has nothing to do with the hardware at all..

Try taking the lids and drip thingies out of the bottles, put them somewhere 'kiddie and pet safe' and just let them steep for a week or two.

The difference in flavour can be like night and day. I'm not really sure of the chemical reactions that take place but letting the air get to them can make all the difference.

I used to be a bit sceptical about the whole steeping thing but now i'm a proper convert. many premium juices will come pre-steeped but most mass produced stuff is probably bottled as soon as its mixed
