Hey guys,

I have won this RDTA and it is my very first rebuildable, I have put a coil in here which is one of the clapton ones it came with and it reads at .6 ohms, and I have also wicked it and juiced it and filled the tank up.

I the cotton doesn't stay saturated for long, like after 3 or 4 drags I get a burnt taste I know you tilt it upside down to let the cotton saturate again but is there a way for me to not do that as much?

Again this is my very first attempt and I don't think its bad one bit because ay I got coil going and it produces vapour.

Maybe I havent got the wicking right at all? Thats the trickiest part to do the whole build, installing the coil and getting it glowing from the inside out was easy in my opinion just the wicking as its really fiddly.

Oh and also on this coil reading at .6 ohm and its a clapton should I be getting a really burnt taste at 45 watts.. as I have to use this coil at 31 watts because I don't get a burnt taste as often but I would like to use more watts.

I know it a lot to ask for but can you guys please help a beginner in the rebuildables, thank you very much in advance apes :)

Bad quality but this the build :)

I would suggest less wicking and minimal wick tails and keep tilting it to wet the wick, 'tis the way of RDTAs.

Small chamber so have a 0.6-ish microcoil kanthal I think (forgotten) and best flavour I'm getting on the juice I'm using for me is at 40W, depends on your taste, juice, coil, wick etc.
Given its size it would get hot with a complex or large coil and 50W or more I would guess.
Anyway, it's a flavour atty so keep watts nice and low and have good airflow and enjoy.
I took it out with me every day last week and at work it's more than enough to last me on a break.

Well I can't show you as my tab is nearly dead but if you take the top cap off my wicks end just under the airflow so I think thats pretty long, I'll have a go of re-wicking it soon, I just would like to fire it at higher watts really, but gets burnt on 45 watts .6 ohms

What is the two wires did you use to make the claptons ? You maybe using too much watts or too much cotton. To me that looks like a 24g/38g or so clapton 6wraps. If it is it can only handle 28- 36 ish watts, thats why u dont get a burnt taste at 31 watts. Also what mannikon said. After you fed the wick through the coil thin the edges out a bit that should help too

Yeah I know what you kean @mannikon, I haven't made my owm coils yet as I'm just using the claptons it came with in the box, and they ohm out at 0.6ohms, maybe 31watts is its perfered watts I don't know but I'll make the wicks shorter next time and see if theres a difference at all, I don't have any wire or cotton at home thats why I used it all out of the box :)

I don't know what gauge the wire is at all mate as its the claptons that came with the RDTA, but I know they're ohming out at 0.6ohms :), maybe I don't have any wire or cotton myself so when I get some money I will have to make a lower build maybe because in my opinion I would love around 50 watts on this RDTA :)

Hi Danny, it looks like you're stuffing too much wick down the holes. With the 3.5mm inside diameter coil I'm using, I cut the wick so it's just long enough to tuck in the holes by a couple of mm. Fluff up and then trim the ends to a 45ish degree angle / point. When it's tucked in it should fill the hole but still be easy enough to stick in the little screwdriver down the sides. If you've done it right when you juice it up it should swell up enough so you don't get any leaking.
