Would this method of mixing e-liquid work?

hi guys.

so i've been thinking about having a stab at making my own e-juice. i'd be mixing it all to a 50/50 pg/vg ratio @ 18mg strength. i've noticed that hardly any flavourings require more than a 20% concentration. my plan is to buy 50ml of 72mg VG and add 50ml of plain vg to it and 80ml of plain pg. i would then put 8ml of this mixture into 10ml bottles and then add the flavourings and possibly a bit of extra pg to make it up to 2ml depending on the required flavour %. this would then leave me with a 10ml bottle ready to steep. can anyone forsee any problems with keeping it stored in 10ml bottles? will it go off faster?

cheers
Wayne

I just keep em seperate till making up a batch, nicotine will be fine in plastic up to 1 year but you could use glass bottles if you wish I plan to switch to all glass soon but plastic is working fine for now.

Yep.. was reading it wrong, should end up at 18mg.

I don't see why it shouldn't work as you plan.

sorry, it should of been 60ml of plain pg and not 80ml. i still don't understand how that would give me 9mg strength.

i thought with the 50ml of 72mg nicotine juice making up 25% of the total finished liquid then that would end up with 25% of the nicotine strength which is 18mg. 50ml nicotine VG + 50ml Plain Vg + 60ml PG + 40ml Flavour = 200ml of e juice.

Aye it's ok.. you're correct.

I had a brain fart. ;)

I considered doing that because I'm always mixing in a rush, but the maths made my head spin.

i would suggest to anyone doing mixing to download the ejuicemeup calculator.. dead easy to use and you can configure it to whatever mix you want and then get the exact measurments needed

i've got it on my pc but i've always wondered about the accuracy of using drops due to the different thicknesses of the liquids.

Drops is no measure... Too many variables.

Your idea of mixing a large amount of base liquid and then add flavour later is good. A large amount is much safer to mix, a marginal error doesn't make so much difference then.
It sounds like a solid plan.
