hi all, ive just upgraded from my range of ego's/spinners to a vamo v5, im delighted with its performance, but keep finding bad reviews concerning the internal ego threading.
Does anyone have any tips on how to prolong its life? slightly wish i had bought the SID now, but i love the Vamos weight and stainless steel. I wonder if a light smear of vasaline or similar may help.
Many thanks :-)

@stephenfletcher I have Vamo 2x v2, v4 & v5 all of which are stainless steel, only issue has been the centre pin dropping :)

None of them have problems with the threading and my v2's are over 6 months old :D

the "black" version is the cheaper one. Its also made from cheese. I think you will find most of the reviews were talking about, or parroting on, or chinese whispering about people screwing things really tight onto this version and messing it up.

the stainless steel one is (and there WILL be an exception to this rule) perfectly ok in that department.
Vamo....if things dont fit perfectly flush, dont go screwing it down even further. Just tighten it up snug, and if there is a gap, live with it.
Or buy an OCD washer from stealthvape santa to take up the gap.

Thanks for the reply, Hopefuly im worrying over nothing, but its my first proper mod lol. At the price, if it lasted six months i'd consider it good value and be happy to buy another.

Thats good to know :-) i've added an ego 'beauty' ring/plinth that takes the gap up quite well, i also thought it may add extra support.
i love this site, its marvelous to connect with other vapers.

I got mine second hand, it was already well used when I got it. I managed 6 months of reasonably intensive use, plenty of atty changes. The 510 threads are now pretty shot. Some things still screw on but others just fall out. Ego thread fittings are still fine though.

Considering the price I paid for it and the use is had im very happy with the value for money side of things.

Ive moved this down to new users questions, Help and Feedback is for forum or website related issues :)

I have had the vamo v5 (black chrome) for a couple of months now, no sign of thread wear yet. But like all my kit, (bought with hard earned dosh), treat it with respect. Very thing wears out eventually, and bouncing it off the floor and generally mistreating it, will speed this up.

I have a V5 & intend buying an eGo to 510 adapter to put on it soon. Then any wear will be on the adapter & when its threads feck up,simply unscrew, bin & replace with another.

Afternoon,
Started with a V2, 2 moths ago, 510 threads completely shot, u/s. so i bought a V5, really nice bit of kit and made the decision to put an ego/510 adapter in it from right out the box, so that will take the wear and tear. I also use a couple of plinths, 1. to hide all the exposed threads, and 2. just to give it a bit more support.
Hope this helps a bit.
