Just joined the forum so I thought I'd post the recipe for the e-liquid I've been happy with for the last year or so. I'm not a great believer in flavouring. My maxim is "a little flavour goes a long way". Having said that, I do mix to a 30mg strength which is quite high so I realise that those who use weaker strengths might feel the need for more flavouring.

What I make has a predominantly maple flavour. It gives a heavy throat hit if directly inhaled but I tend to keep it in my mouth, inhale a tiny bit and then exhale through my nose to give a nice peppery simulation of exhaling smoke. It produces the same kind of tingling in the nose that tobacco does. I find the nicotine hit satisfying but realise that because of the way I vape it, most of the nicotine is probably absorbed through the membranes in my mouth and nose rather than in my lungs. So, if you are one of those who needs to fill your lungs up then this may not be one for you.

Ingredients:-

- PG Nicotine Base at 52mg/ml
- PG
- VG (with 10% distilled water pre mixed)
- Maple Flavouring from Cupcake World (UK)
- Vanilla Flavouring (made by Silver Spoon available from Sainsbury's et al)
- Cream Fresh (from Flavourart UK)
- Cotton Candy (as a sweetener from Hansen)
- MTS Vape Wizard (from Liberty Flights)

I get the base, PG and VG from cig-eliquid.co.uk. They have good quality base, are in the UK and their prices are very reasonable.
The Maple and Vanilla are regular water-based food flavours. Cupcake World is a UK on-line retailer for those who like baking cake. The Maple is very cheap and better than several others I've tried. The Vanilla is just regular Silver Spoon brand (again water-based) and available from most supermarkets.
The Cream Fresh, Cotton Candy and MTS are specialist e-liquid flavours. cig-eliquid (who provide my base) usually have the Cotton Candy in stock and MTS is stocked by many DIY sites.

I use the following proportions to make a 30 ml bottle which give me a strength of about 30mg/ml.
I've found that the mix benefits little from steeping and can be vaped immediately after mixing with no chemical after-taste. This is a major plus! If left to steep it does get minimally better and it also turns a darker colour as is so often the case with e-liquid.

PG Nicotine Base (52mg/ml) - 17.5 ml
PG (with no nicotine) - 5 ml
VG (with no nicotine) - 5 ml
Maple - 10 drops
Vanilla - 10 drops
Cotton Candy - 15 drops
Cream Fresh - 5 drops
MTS-VW - 2 drops

It's a fairly sweet vape with an overall pleasant maple taste and quite peppery. It's good on its own but it tends to taste much better when I'm drinking beer (real ale of course and not lager). I favour the more mid to dark beers with caramel-type overtones (eg Guinness, Spitfire etc.)

I've come to this recipe via A LOT of trial and error and it serves me well. It's my staple vape now and I've not changed it in just over a year. The batch number was X14 so that's what I call it. Enjoy.

[I clicked on "Submit a Recipe" first but it seemed like the message went to site admin so apologies - I'm new here]
