My misses ordered me an SVD from FT as a xmas pressie last year on 7th October. Singapore suddenly stopped delivering batteries so the package got returned. It was resent, then got lost in Hong Kong for 2 months. So finally FT sent me another and I recieved it on 16th December.
I think you've got the right idea ordering so early.
