So far I have experienced the following methods.
-Magnetic stirrer, with or without added heat (50°).
-Ultrasonic cleaner (30W, 44Khz)
-Plain hand shaking
Have been pretty surprised looking at my logs and tasting every few days.
Mostly capella and some FA flavours.
Cake batter, vanilla cupcake, apple pie, Ny cheesecake. all of these have taken 3-4 weeks no matter what I did to them. The cake flavour just doesn't develop before week 3. Sweetness is usually lacking until week 2-3, just bland until then, why? I have no idea, the sugariness is hiding?
5.5 weeks, apple pie is just excellent, sweet, clear cake flavour and the apple is coming through nicely.
Somewhat the same with Bullhorn, Strawberries n cream, harvest berry, mountain dew. At first they taste a bit strange, too sharp, the flavour settles after about 2 weeks.
Only one that is fine straight up, Cool mint, a peppermint and menthol with a bit of sweet.
I have tried with and without 3-4h magnetic stir and or ultrasonic same amount of time. It still takes time for flavours to "settle" or "steep".
@dibbley , Frothing seems like a very good idea. Oxidizing might be the ticket, get plenty of air into the mix with frother. If nothing else at least you get your DIY mix or ready juice properly blended before steep.
Oxidizing with UV, discussed here. http://www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/16714-UV-Steeping/page3
Current mixing regiment, 2h on high speed magnetic stir ,Sealed glass bottle(50°C, doesnt kill flavour but does make VG more fluid) just to get all the bits blended.
Finish off with 1-2h of ultrasonic, put on shelf for 3 weeks. 100ml batches usually.
Ultrasonic by itself doesn't work too well, tried slamming flavours on top of my VG and nic, they just sat there in a separate layer.
Accelerated steeping? Doesn't seem like it, maybe I have cut a week?
